For all time. Emigration of the Baltic-Germans

At the beginning of World War II, from October to December 1939, the Baltic-Germans emigrated from Latvia. They were the third largest, one of Latvia's wealthiest, politically most organised and nationally unified minorities. Their emigration was the direct consequence of the non-aggression pact concluded on 23 August 1939 between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.

Even most Germans don't know that. It is a pity that Germans learn so little about their own history. Hungarians for example tend to know much more about German history.

@@Leguan-tj9uj My Grandmother lived in Stettin (now Szeczecin, Poland) and remembered the ships with the Baltic Germans arriving with just a suitcase leaving everything behind.

One famous German from the Baltic countries was the sniper Bruno Sutkus.He fought as a volunteer in the German Army on the eastern front 1941-45,where had 209 confirmed kills.His father was German from Memel.His mother was Lithuanian.After WW2 Bruno Sutkus fought in the "Forest Brothers Movement".The Baltic Resistance Movement.They fought a furious guerilla war against the Soviet Union 1945-53.

with the signing of the nazi-soviet pact in august 1939 he demanded a proviso that that the german populations of the baltics be allowed to leave and resettle in "germany"....essentially warthegau/west prussia..replacing polish populations..hitler also struck a deal to remove all ethnic germans from soviet occupied poland and later bessarabia when the soviets annexed that territory...basically he was wanting to repopulate poland with suitable racial stock...and prevent germans from being ruled by the soviets

@@imantsvitols9758 exactly they didnt deport them..they agreed on the baltic german emigration with the reich government agencies the UWZ and Vomi...as i mentioned in my previous statement it was part of the heim in reich initiative

Ну,да,всё значительное,что есть на этой территории,особенно в Риге,создано немцами,русскими и евреями.Немцев в 1939 году обобрали и выгнали,евреев истребили,сейчас выдавливают русских...Какая талантливая и трудолюбивая нация.Кругом развал -промышленности,сельского хозяйства , нация вымирает и разбегается батрачить и продавться по всему свету...,зато национальная идея торжествует. Население этой территории за 30 лет снизилось на 40 процентов.Оттуда, где хорошо,не бегут и там не вымирают.Продолжайте в том же духе.😂😂😂...😅😅😅

The Germans were the best that had come to our territory from other nations! The Russians were the complete opposite, because they had already eliminated the small intelligentsia they had during the Red Terror! All kinds of scum came in!
