We had so much potential but unfortunatley my home land wants nothing to do with God. We have kicked Him out of every aspect of our nation. We said get out, and of course with His loving respect He has for us, He stepped back. Pray for these 50 states!

I look at the rejection of God in the West and I can’t help but think of the book of Judges. A generation comes and rejects God, he takes a step back and this results in hard times falling upon the nation, then in their distress the people turn their hearts back to God and he hears them. May the hearts of Americans, Canadians, British, and many others return to The Lord and know his peace again.

As a former, life long Southern Baptist myself, my dissatisfaction with evangelicals began in the seventies, when I, as a teenager started to see the many discrepancies that are rife within this faith. I had the strong desire to go into home missionary work which never transpired, but I later was ordained a deacon in the late nineties, thinking, wrongly of course, this event would help to refocus my faith in this errant mindset. I eventually had enough, and along with my family, we stopped attending church all together in 2013. I had grown nauseous, spiritually, of being a part of something that was based on human focused spirituality, gluttony, materialism and such. For five years we never darkened the doorway of any church,and I even felt guilt for not attending. Even so, I knew the evangelicals, the Southern Baptists in particular, were in great error and I never wanted to be a part of that faith again. In 2017, I came across a YT video on the Pascha service in Russia, and I cannot explain it, but I was deeply moved. Two years later, I found an Eastern Orthodox Church just a few miles from where I live and my wife and I were chrismated into Eastern Orthodoxy a year and a half ago with no regrets. Orthodoxy requires effort on the part of those who are faithful and is not for the spiritually faint of heart. I have since found that evangelicals, though most are good people, are spiritually lazy. If you, especially those who are evangelical, are comfortable where you are, I would say to stay put. Also, we as Orthodox Christians do not worship the saints, Mary, or anyone else. We worship God and God Alone. We venerate the saints ask for their help going to God to help with our needs as we would go to any flesh and blood Christian. Orthodoxy and its practices go all the way back to the times of the apostles in the first century A.D. Protestants have only been around for 500 years, and evangelicals for maybe 150. So, what was the true faith in the centuries before that? Protestants and evangelicals seem to have an elitist mindset when it comes to spirituality and I, for one, am glad to be done with them and am glad I have found the one, true faith.

Even as a fellow Protestant, I too noticed this elitism in my Brothers in Christ, and so I’ve found a Lutheran Church who is closer to the more traditional Christian faith. The only reason I am not Catholic nor Orthodox is because they treat some teachings made by fallible humans as scripture, but since such teaching are often harmless, their dedication to Christ still shows and I treat them accordingly.

@DubLL6 ай бұрын
Your idea of Orthodoxy is that based on Ethnic roots and not of the Church itself. The Apostles didn't go to the different nations because they liked those specific areas, but just to spread the Church. You must have forgotten Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Anyway, an opinion is an opinion I guess, but calling any chant "terrible" is not the best way to go about that.
@jupiterinaries61506 ай бұрын
@@DubLL that doesn’t mean that these western nations need to adopt Eastern tones for their chants. They should write their own tones based more on western music theory. And yes English does sound terrible when sung in eastern tones.
