I generally agree with the tierlist except for the black prior skin. for me it would be elite (personally I am very influenced by Baldwin 4's story) but in my opinion there are also other aspects that put this skin on par with the others such as the incense that makes smoke, the fire effect on the clothes and then in game while the bp is in bulwark posture you can see the eyes burning on the shield sculpture. But this is my personal preference

Wukong the monkey king. you might think it's a brand new character in the game so different he is to shaolin in appearance. we have black prior which has a fire like pattern that moves, same with the pirate. think they should have given the highlander a Surtr like look as skin! Still think it looks cool but not as a skin

As a main Warmonger, the only reason im not buying the skin is because she as already one of the best fashion in the game, honestly i prefer her whitout. The BP and Kensey on the other hand... (Yea, im still waiting for a Hiro skin just because).

Honestly I have both of these, but I would move Meiko up to Vela's spot and maybe move Vela down a tier. Meiko had great color customization with the hair and weapon, the moving eyes are less noticable than I'd like, but it was such a unique concept, and really pops when you see it different from any other kensei look. Vela on the other hand just doesn't stand that much higher above warmonger's already-great armor customization.

I think the reason why the warden skin isn’t as great when compared to the others is because 1) it’s the first hero skin released, 2) that fucking helmet not being able to be closed pisses me and a lot of others people off, and 3) it’s could just be a bit more flashy. Like add on a cape or something to make him seem like a knight above knights.

I still feel betrayed about the raider skin, it looks so shit and you can mostly make it yourself aswell. It would be a other story if there would be new dialog or something like that but no, its just a black raider, we could have had a varangian guard or maybe a ulfhednar but no

🤣 Yeah, that's a very popular opinion on Raider. Sucks because we're not getting another one anytime soon with them releasing 4 a year. Pretty solid list, I'd say I agree with everything, though I'd move up BPs skin just cause I dig the like dark fantasy inquisitor vibe. With Maddox though personally I really like it cause of all the chainmail, there's not nearly enough armoured options for a lot of the viking heroes imo, hoping the midseason update armours bring some more or the new viking hero has more armoured options

Yeah, BPs is really solid and like I was waffling back and forth in the video, it is All Star worthy in design just not that as far as me purchasing. So the line blurred there. Hey, I thought enough of it to buy it! 🤷🏽‍♂️ There is a simple flavor to it, but most don't like it because it's not unique enough and just appears to be dark Raider with very little variation. I like the movement on his arms amd weapons that adds flair and distinction, just don't think it stands out enough for people, but hey if you like it use the heck out of it. Here’s my mini tier list breakdown as a graphic designer/photographer (best-pass): Shaolin- Completely unique look can’t be mistaken for armor/good color flexibility/moveset compliments character identity Black Prior- Fire effects are eye-catching/good color variety/clear historical influence/character is quite heretical regrettably(quite horrifying in lore) Warmonger- Excellent conquistador design/effects are used sparingly but still striking details/also fits character Kensei- Great clash of myth and history/good color variety/details aren’t quite as striking, but blend well/sword isn’t unique and closely resembles older seasonal weapon designs Highlander- Excellent ornamental sword design/striking visual/similar to other highlander armors, but different enough to distinguish Warden- Impressive armor design/looks good with almost every color/simple, yet easily recognized/sword isn’t that unique Raider- Unique skin effects/ over-reliance on color to make distinguishable/lack of color DOES help draw attention to key aspects like the bracelet and the cursed effects/customization has limited effect with such small accents to focus on/can be mimicked in game😂 Pirate- Design isn’t very unique and could just as easily be an armor set/not as clear of a theme compared to the rest/good color variation/ is Pirate

To me personally, I love all these skins but my #1 top tier imo out of em all is without a doubt Wukong Skin! I get to run around and slay as a monkey man!!👌🏼😅🔥

Ill admit to being incredibly biased as a kensei main, but to me Yokai Slayer is the best hero skin. It really mixes up the look of the Kensei, and yet you can still easily tell the hero at a glance. The vibe entirely changes and gives something incredibly unique. I also just enjoy the Yokai and visible sleeve tattoo, to me its a skin thats nothing but an absolute visual treat to look at. It did what it wanted beautifully.

Definitely mixes up the look for Kensei and that's what you want for a skin. Since the Oathbreaker Maddox release I've come down on that one. Not as great once I got hands on closer look. Noted for the next time I do one of these. 😂 The great thing about Meiko is it is unique. I love the hair and the visual elements they employed like you mentioned are nice, it's just not the look I preferred. And thats okay. Kensei was my second main with Nobushi being my first, and I can't wait to see what they do for her! Thanks for watching and contributing to the conversation 🫡

I personally don’t like any of the mythological skins because I will also love the fruity grounded old atmosphere the game used to have but I personally don’t buy hero skins because they’re too expensive and don’t have as much customization as making your own outfit. I will say though they all look good but my most favorite ones are Oathbreaker Maddox, Conquistador Vela, Commander Ravier, and Inquisitor Yinchen because those are the only ones I can see taking part in the current conflict and they also look the most normal. The only thing I dislike is Ravier having infinitely burning armor because I would’ve preferred if they kept the no flame look from the concept art.

It's funny you mention the grounded atmosphere. That's what got me interested in the game to begin with! I originally didn't like all the what I thought at the time was silly emotes and executions. Over time I have become numb to it amd just want the dang game to be balanced and get some new dom maps or convert tribute maps for goodness sake!! Great point on the customization limitations. That definitely stinks and I think they are trying to adjust that a little as they go along with materials and patterns being able to be used but we'll just have to see how well it goes. @@MisterArdor True I’d love some balancing that’s why after the new Viking hero they should stop releasing heroes for a while and focus on balancing the game, adding new Breach and Dominion maps and maybe even reusing some maps from the dead game modes and story mode, and adding new armor especially for Raider. I’d love Raider with chainmail or a traditional Viking tunic.

I would have put warmonger way below as a fan of warmonger and Apollyon, I dont like the helmet, the armor seems okay. Kensei imo is really great, the only thing I dislike is the right arm being not covered and making her weird, like, it seems unbalanced, but the rest of her armor and her mask is so nice, the sword is pretty too.

My tier list Elite. Highlander,Warmommy All star. Pirate,Black prior Starter. None Bench. Shaolin,Warden,Kensei Practice. Raider Warmommy is just beautiful its my favorite skin. Highlanders skin is another amazing badass looking skin. Pirates skin is cool but I don't use pirate and same for Black prior. I agree what you said about Kensei. Warden skin is ok but not quite there for me. Shaolin skin is cool but the antennas ruin it for me. Raiders skin is just garbage.

Love Kensei, just not the skin. Uniquely different, yes! If that's what you're looking for it's there but the design of that uniqueness was off for me. Don't think its *got* to be those three because it is an opinion and we all have one, so it's subject to many things but I like reading everyone's opinion. The past two years (Y6 & Y7) they have been giving us a hero skin every season. I haven't even heard if For Honor is supported for Year 8. They announced on the Warrior's Den last year. I hope it is and if it is, I expect the same rollout of one each season. It works. New dom maps would work too!

Visual-wise, Wukong and Meiko are definitely at the top for me. They're actually unique, whereas the others look like armor variations. Femboy Warden looks like a male warmonger with a face showing. Raider's is just Raider with blackface. Pirate's is neat ig, but it doesn't suit her imo. Highlander just looks like a basic viking. BP is kinda cool to be fair. Vela is just a warmonger set. But Wukong? A whole ass monkey god. A popular figure who suits Shaolin perfectly and looks good. And Meiko, my personal favorite, who has living tattoos and armor, as well floating, spectral hair. No hate to the FH team and whoever likes the new skin, but it was very disappointing to me.

Meiko's floating hair is nice, could do without the living tattoos, but as you know I wanted fully armored Samurai. I feel you can do that and still make it a skin. So far, haven't seen anyone that liked Warden's skin. Maybe someone soon. What I'm reading from some is that the Highlander skin seems like armor, but what other Viking has armor like that? @MisterArdor I'd definitely like to see a fully armored samurai. Maybe something like Hito with heavier armor and a helmet or something? Or a fully armored Shugoki. I think metal armor was rare during that period, but I'm sure they could make something work. As for Highlanded, I could be wrong, but it feels like someone already has a bear pelt, which is close to this. He just feels like the basic stereotypical viking. Like, when I think of a basic viking stereotype, it's him. What I think they should have done with him is make him based off of some sort of god or demon. Idk much mythology in that region, but looking up some pictures, seeing him as something like Neit would be cool. It's an older badass god it seems, with full armor in some pics and shirtless in others. Either could work for Highlander, but I think seeing him as this big, buff, and shirtless old man covered in scars would have been really cool. Have his sword be flaming or something. Just neat touches that make the heroes stand out more. That's the biggest thing a skin should do imo: stand out. That's why I gave BP and Pirate a bit of a pass and love Wukong and Meiko's designs. Warden would have stood out if not for Warmonger. Vela just looks like a normal Warmonger. Raider just looks like someone chose a dark skin color for Raider. Highlander just looks like a Griffin with a sword. None of those really stand out as unique or interesting imo. When I see a skin on the field, I want it to draw in my attention, not just be another hero.

@euphoricdespair Good shout for Hito to be fully armored! That would be crazy! I agree on standing out, but I think it does standout with the sabertooth pelt on his head. I think you might be thinking of Gudmundr and I can see the resemblance to that. Was thinking Warlord might have this look over Highlander but the lore moved it to Highlander. Stereotypical for sure but I dont think Highlander is your typical Viking. Hes just aligned the way For Honor does it. When you say V/O, are you talking voice-overs? That would set then apart and is valid, but they so have some visuals that set then apart. Dont know the cost to hire actors to do that, but I'm not sure how feasible that would be. Still a good point. I am personally still excited for a Nobushi hero skin even without a voice-over. These first two elite u mentioned for me are actually gabage. First off I realy don´t like WuKong, cuz they put it in every game lately, idk, maybe for atracting chineese people. Second - the fur looks ugly for 2023. The design of Highlander feels poor, they just can´t do viking fashion. So the Elite for me - Warmommy conquistador. And of course the Black Priors skin, they look super awesome. Also bc of metal parts u can paint. And next the Kensei skin, Pirate one, and after them goes Warden. Wanna see if there people to be agree with my list

Respect it! 👊🏼 There's no wrong list imo. Fashion is based on your own eye and what you value. Warmonger fashion is nice already and Vela is no different. It's well done. I like the uniqueness of WuKong in this game since his features are completely different than Shaolin. Oathbreaker Maddox is not like other Vikings as well with him being armored up.
