is this game worth picking up if i havent played it yet, or is the general playerbase too good for it to be worth investing time in

It’s hard to say tbh because it really depends on you and how fast you can get a hang of the mechanics. That being said, I had the most fun when I first started the game and had no idea what was going on lol. It’s easy to fixate on the problems with the game so be patient and try to have fun!
