I feel that this verse speaks to more then just financial poverty: it also speaks to a spiritual poverty that I and I'm sure many others have fallen into. We are so sure to go to work even when we don't feel like it, or feel a little under the weather, but we must have this mindset when it comes to the spirit as well. There are so many things that vie for our attention. Some are not even wrong or sin, but we must be careful to make sure to spend time in prayer and study of the divine word. Doing this things keep us from being broke in the spirit. It feeds our spirit to overpower our carnal man. I pray that God helps us to spend more time with him. For he is where our strength comes from. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. When it happens to me, if I ask God to make me "______", I find my sinful self being the one who audits whether or not God came through. So this passage is in romans chapter 7. Hes talking about people who live according to the law and how sin is aroused by the law .flesh is sinful and the law helps a person understand that they are doing wrong yet they do it ,though the law they know its wrong, so it's like this body of ours is death how can we be delivered? From this body of death? In the end of the passage he says THANKS BE TO GOD AND THE LORD JESUS CHRIST meaning through Jesus christ we can be set free how, because through him we receive the holy spirit the presence of God that we can walk in, we can walk in God's nature and not in the nature of this flesh by receiving the holy spirit through Jesus christ thats why he says ‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ [6] But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.
