I've got the 7006-8009. I picked it up on ebay a few years ago and stashed it in a cigar box until about a month ago.

I have a nice little collection of these in different colours, 17,19 and 21 jewel versions, including a grey dial version like this with 21 jewels which is a birth month watch for me.

Nice to see one of these get a service! There's also a blue dial variant of these that looks stunning and similar design dress watches such as the 7000-8000, 6309-8010, and 7005-2000 are super underrated!

Bought one of these in Singapore in the 70's when my Pogue had to be serviced (again). Worked well for about 20 odd years until I put it in the closed pocket in my boiler suit (coveralls) finished my watch in an engine room of my vessel and put the boiler suit in for a wash. Getting it back I found the wash (very clean!), but, the watch had stayed together,but, the whole of the watchworks had turned about 60 degrees clockwise and saturated. Threw it in the bin which I regret as it kept really good time initially and it could have been restored, anyway it became landfill in Far North Queensland. The Pogue I still have and that is right now being given a desent overhaul before I can do some more work on my old IWC and an old Roamer pocket watch

KB - must be Keneth Branagh! All jokes aside, grateful to have this content in these times :)

Spencer, I have a bunch of watches like this. I love the color and brushing on the dial face. Have you ever thought of doing an in depth examination of watch faces? Specifically the brushing of the faces and the zillions of different kinds of hour markers Seiko used? I’m a big fan of lime pits, but Seiko also used chromed blocks with painted sections that are crazy looking, but still still make a nice and easily readable face. Thank you and Sabrina for all you do and please keep on doing it your way. I’m a huge fan and I look forward to rack of your videos.

Great video! Have the identical watch. Can the crystal be replaced from the back after removing movement? I don't have a special crystal removal tool.

Another great service vid. It would be great to see how you adjusted the movement when it was on the timegrapher, to adjust the timekeeping and beat error. Thanks.

excellent video, I love this type of videos, I have a question about the Seiko 7006 calibers and I hope you can help me. Are they 17 jewels, 19 jewels or 21 jewels? what is the difference between them only the jewels? greetings and thanks.
@outwoodyapecker2 жыл бұрын
they came in three variants which you mentioned and yes the only difference between them is the jewel count

Finally! I understand why my 7006 does this "weird" thing when using the day quickset: SINGLE LANGUAGE! (facepalm). Cheers!

I have the identical watch given to me by my parents 1971. What is typical cost and turnaround time to service, replace crystal, etc? Thx

Hello. Shot in the dark here. My father passed a couple years back and the watch of his I just found is this exact model. Functional but runs quite fast and could use some tlc. Any chance of sending it to you so I could continue its life in his honor afterward? Best, great video.

How did you get the movement out of the case?
@H0kram4 жыл бұрын
You praise that movement a lot. When it comes to vintage I aim for reliable movements first and the 7000 series looks great. The 5 actus and their 6000s I believe, seem like a good option too.

I have one of these, and the crystal is cracked (and it needs some repair and service). What crystal did you use?

Correct crystal is 310T10ANSO

Spencer Klein - glass or plastic crystal?
@srgnsw654 жыл бұрын
Again can I suggest that it would be much more interesting to watch you making the adjustments for beat error and regulation on the watch itself rather than watching the numbers change on the timegrapher.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch4 жыл бұрын
Of course, and I certainly understand. I've only included live adjustments twice now; sort of on a whim. There's no setup I have that would allow me to film the adjustments I'm actually doing while live. I need to be right on top of the balance levers, and I can't be distracted or worried about anything. 100% focus on the adjustments.

@@SpencerKleinVintageWatch Well if ever you can think of a way, I for one would love to watch you do it. :)
