I was born a Muslim in Iraq. I was worried and depressed, sitting and looking at the Tigris River in my city.Jesus' face appeared to me in the water and told me. "Son, you're not alone" And now I'm a Christian, and I pray every day at the edge of the river.Thank you Jesus for this grace. I'm not alone right now. Jesus is with me.✝🙏

My daughter just got home from their concert. She was quiet, deep in herself, usually she's bubbling to tell what happened. Finally she shared with me about this song and the testimony of one of the band members, how it moved her, made her spiritually examine herself and come Monday she's going to apologize to a teacher to whom she's carried anger in her heart. All l could say was " That must've been SOME concert." So l'm here, to listen to this song that touched my daughter so.

Now its been months and she still comes around to find me there. We sit together and everything. We arent together but she is cute and she loves jesus and so do i. That story reminds me of my current situation. Also her first name starts with the same letter as my first name starts with and she is smart and getting a bachlors of education. Wish me luck as i as i see where this goes. Either a deep friendship or a relationship. Idk which but either is beautiful to me.

“Flush the pills” was a deeply personal line. Thank you for being vulnerable for telling personal stories for the purpose of helping others walk in freedom. That is a calling we as Christians have. @KATE, your quote reminds me of a story: The Deal One day Satan and Jesus had a conversation. Satan had just returned from the garden of Eden and he was malicious and boastful. "Yes sir, I just caught the whole world full of people. Set my trap and used a bait that I knew they couldn't resist. Got them all!" "What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked. Satan replied, "Oh, I will have a great time! I will teach them how to hate and abuse each other. I will teach them how to invent firearms and bombs and how to kill each other. I'm going to have a lot of fun!" "And what will you do when you're done with them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, I'm going to kill them," said Satan proudly. "How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked. "What, you want them? They are not good for anything. Why would you want them? If you take them they will only hate you. They will spit on you, curse you and kill you!! You certainly don't want these people!!" "How much?" He asked again. Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, your tears and your life." Jesus said: "AGREED!" Then He paid the price.

Reminds me of my first girlfriend. I've never felt real love until I met her. Didn't last long and it broke my heart. I fell into deep depression for 3 years. I was miserable. Then next I met another. Didn't take long for me to realize that she was only using me as distraction from her ex. My heart shattered and I literally fell onto the ground and cried merciless. Through my tears I seen an angel from God come down to comfort me and later that night, I felt God already fixing my heart and I praised him for hours. After I gained my strength again, Jesus told me "And do not look back, Satan only wants to kill and destroy you". Years has passed and I still hold onto those words and always will. I am STRONGER, WISER and MORE TOLERANT than before because of Jesus Christ, my Lord, the Father.

I'm crying at how far you guys have come. 6 years ago I saw you perform at a church for barely 200 people and now you're performing in front of thousands. But through it all you've remained faithful to get the message of the gospel out. Even with your growing fame when I met Joel last year he made it seem like what I had to say was so important and he waited all day to hear it. I'll never forget him grabbing my hand and telling me there was so much more to come and giving me a hug after I told the reason I loved and needed the song matter or the look on his face when I had told him I've been listening for almost 6 years. I made that photo of me and him my lock screen again in honor of Burn the Ships. Album is amazing keep up the great work!

lyrics: How did we get here? All castaway on a lonely shore I can see in your eyes, dear It's hard to take for a moment more We've got to Burn the ships, cut the ties Send a flare into the night Say a prayer, turn the tide Dry your tears and wave goodbye Step into a new day We can rise up from the dust and walk away We can dance upon our heartache, yeah So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships And don't you look back Don't let it arrest you This fear is fear of fallin' again And if you need a refuge I will be right here until the end Oh, it's time to Burn the ships, cut the ties Send a flare into the night Say a prayer, turn the tide Dry your tears and wave goodbye Step into a new day We can rise up from the dust and walk away We can dance upon our heartache, yeah So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships And don't you look back So long to shame, walk through the sorrow Out of the fire into tomorrow So flush the pills, face the fear Feel the wave disappear We're comin' clear, we're born again Our hopeful lungs can breathe again Oh, we can breathe again Step into a new day We can rise up from the dust and walk away We can dance upon our heartache, yeah So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships And step into a new day We can rise up from the dust and walk away We can dance upon our heartache, yeah So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships And don't you look back And don't you look back And don't you look back If you wanted to sing along... :)

So we decided to meet up once a week and hold eachother accountable. No matter what! And all is well then we read the word of God and have coffee and maybe play some cards. We just noticed tha we as brothers in christ need to be there for eachother. But thanks or th suggestion🙏

Gabapentin is useful and not a controlled medication. You should be open to neuropathic healing that is healthy. Gabapentin is probably safer than Tylenol actually. Not all meds are bad. Valid safe prescriptions and addictions are very different things

I love how this song’s telling the listeners to forget your past, because your past doesn’t define you. When you get saved, you are finally free of all the weight on your shoulders. It’s telling us to look forward and don’t ever let your past get to you

The elder tonight, preached on repentance and said, "Romans used to burn their ships after landing on the shore they aim to conquer to prevent any thoughts of going back without victory. So, us as believers should also burn the ships which can carry us back to our worldly/sinful ways, and never turn back. True repentance".

What a powerful message, as a history enthusiast, when I heard the name "Burn the Ships" I knew exactly what it was referring to, love it, as we grow in our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, I find myself burning many, many, ships of the past and of bondage! Not only addictions, but of apathy, of lukewarmness, and indifference. Christ is the only hope of freedom and redemption in this life! Bless you guys!

They played at extreme winter 2019, where I first heard this song. I never really liked Christian music, but for King and Country is so different. Hearing it standing on a chair because I'm too short, seeing all the cinematics and everybody on stage, it was so overwhelming. Listening to it now just makes me emotional, thinking about the horrible situation that I was in for 7 years, and seeing how God got me through it. Seeing how cutting ties and burning the ships of my past, even including my mother, I'm getting better. I still have PTSD, anxiety, and depression, but I'm being treated. I'm seeing my potential. I'm surrounded by people that love me. Thank you for reminding me how great God truly is..thank you Joel...thank you Luke... Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."

I got on my laptop to do homework tonight, stressed out and ready to give up on everything. I noticed that a tab I didn't open was open and I clicked on it and this song was paused at 4 second my favorite and lucky number. No one can get on my laptop but me, so I was confused. I pushed play and this song started playing. At first I was skeptical looking at Joel and Luke looking like Gaston. When then chorus started playing the lyrics hit me, I wept. Sobbing and shaking uncontrollably , thinking about my past abuse, addictions, eating disorders, anger, self harm, loss, depression, PTSD, being paralyzed, and everything I struggled with staring daggers back at me from my past and how I still let it haunt me. Barely able to see I hit replay. Then I read the comments...and went still.… Then my hands started typing without the ability to see the keys. Idk why exactly God wanted me to hear this song and write this right now, but here I am obeying after a few minutes of confusion and arguing with him.... So... Thanks... that's where I am right now, I'm wondering when I'll get to tell my story and what I'm supposed to do now....

So, my husband,, my sister in law and I saw your show on May 14th @ the Angel of the Winds Arena in Washington. Your sincerity and energy were so refreshing! Your song, "Burn the Ships" has a special meaning to me, as I have a heart condition which forced me to abandon my elementary teaching career of 28 years! When I had to retire on disability, I realized that I felt like I didn't have an identity anymore, My identity was wrapped up in my job. Now I realize. that my identity is in Christ and NO heart disease can ever take that away from me.Your song, " Burn the Ships" reminds me of my journey , and how Jesus has been there to pick up the pieces. Walking forward, no matter how slowly , IS walking forward. Your song reminds me the future is in His hands, and I won't look back. Thank you for blessing our evening. SINCERELY, Kimberly Stenek♡♡

I'm a fifth grader, and go to a private school. Our school is merging with another school next year, and I'm going to be homeschooled instead of joining all my friends. I'm heartbroken, depressed, and not at all sure what to do, but the Lord has faithfully been there to guide me. I know that at some point, I won't be able to keep up with my buddies. It's hard, but God, three in one, will help me to "Burn the ships, cut the ties, send a flare into the night, say a prayer, turn the tide, dry my tears and wave goodbye." Satan will tempt us to believe that we are much less, but God tells us that he has plans for us, plans to prosper and not harm us. Don't let that awful devil get into your heart, as you have the Lord by your side. No matter how hard it is, no matter how much you want to follow the crowd, stay with Jesus, who died for you, and BURN THE SHIPS.

I never heard this song until the other day. I was feeling very ashamed (still struggling with that), was afraid because I was almost out of some pain pills I was misusing, and I was scared of the fear and sorrow I would feel when I didn't have something to numb it. I prayed to God, and this song played on the radio, and the exact part, "So long to shame, walk through the sorrow, out of the fire, into tomorrow, so flush the pills, face the fear, feel the weight disappear' etc started playing.. It felt like God had the exact lines at the exact time to play for me, right after I prayed to Him... I didn't 'flush the pills', but I did stop taking them (thankfully didn't take them long enough to get addicted). I told my mom what was going on. I got in to see a psychiatrist, turned out the psychiatrist just so happens to be a Christian too!! Wow! She understood me, and diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and got me on mood stabilizers. i think things might be looking up! I think God is doing something here!! just when I feel He's nowhere to be found and I'm hopeless, He shows himself to me again and again. God is GOOD!!!!!! :D I want to add: THANK 'FOR KING AND COUNTRY'!!! YOU DONT KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE HELPING SHARING YOUR BEAUTIFUL MESSAGES!!!!!

I'm a Christian girl and I remember I accepted God on my heart and as my savior but like they told me the devil started to attack me and I was separating from God's path every passing day, I started to change and I was not myself towards everyone, every night I cried and wasn't able to sleep, and the devil started to get in my head telling me I'm worthless and unloved so he guide me to the kitchen and told me to commit suicide and it happened a lot of times but God saved me every time, I was talking with my friend and he talked with me till 1 am he helped me so much, today on Jan. 21 I was listening to music and this popped on my recommendations and I just started crying since the devil didn't want to let go of me and he made me look back so the line "Leave the past, burn the ships, and don't you look back" just hit me right on my heart since I was trapped in a room spiritually and didn't know what to do this song I believe it was God telling me that he's my refuge and I always have a family who will hear me and a church which will help me and would walk with me he was the light in all that darkness and he again is helping me to open up the door again, and if you're reading this trust in God and open the doors to your heart for him because he's the only one who has the power to help you, thanks for reading my testimony and have a good day.❤

I found this song two years ago. The day before a big choir concert I was in. I was terrified because the last time I was on stage I had a panic attack. I thought I was going to die I didn’t know what was happening. The lights went down I was in place on stage like I’ve done millions of times before but then my head felt strange. My legs were shaking uncontrollably and I felt like I couldn’t move or breathe, the room was moving out of control. So then back to the next concert I was absolutely terrified it was going to happen again. Then I found this song A DAY BEFORE I played it all day and then backstage at the concert. It made me burn that ship that was holding me back. I realized it was all in my head what happened and I had the power to stop it and it stopped. I’m thankful for this song because I didn’t want to give up my passion for singing and theater. Thank you.

I don't think these two brothers know how many people they have saved by this one song alone. So many of their songs touch my heart.

Before even hearing the song, the title spoke out to me already , and thus the song did as well. I had an abusive upbringing which caused so many bondage, but with God, and Jesus Christ I'm seeking to be free of anxiety, fear, panic attacks, unbelief, low self-esteem to burn the ships and not look back John 8:32 " and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." AMEN

I have always used the analogy of my life's journey as being like a ship on the sea. I've been through alot in my life (bullying, loneliness, depression, war and PTSD, poverty, broken relationships, betrayal) and I am currently going through a divorce that I didn't see coming and don't want. God has always used music to comfort me in my darkest times, and yesterday God introduced me to this song. My ship has thirty-five years of despair and heartache, and it's time for me to burn my ship. Thank you for this song! It has given me the strength to endure this chapter in my life and "step into a new day." God Bless!!!

What a powerful message in this song. Many people need to burn any form of infirmities that they face in their life away. Because Jesus has did it for us when he shed his innocent blood for us. How amazing is that. But it also will be amazing when he comes back for his people and where we can share the great news, and have the ability to see our brothers and sisters, can be able to walk the streets of gold and to live again for eternity.

Stuifjunior we believe in God because He is real. He’s the joy that we NEED. God has seen all of us in our worst moments, but he still loves us I doubt one of our friends would be willing to die for us, but the thing is God died for our sins a long time ago. He showed us true love through that. That’s why I believe in God because everything is better with Him.

Jesus said: “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But (D)seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

The first time I heard this song it resonated deep in my soul because I am an addict. I am in recovery and it has been successful which I am very grateful. I love this song. I added it to my playlist of uplifting, motivating, christian contemporary, and hymns. This playlist was made as a tool to prevent relapse and I have come to realize that it works because it helps me be happy.

You are an excellent overcomer, and every day you overcome the beast (that which is trying to take you out) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and the word of your testimony. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, walking the journey in the light of His love. 🙏❤️❤️💜💜

My friends and I always play this song at our Bible Club. I made the club and I'm kinda the pastor for everyone, it's a lot of pressure but in the end, I see God working through me to speak out out to them. I'm only a teenager but this showed me and everyone who attends that its not age that matters but the willingness to speak and do what God has commanded us all to do. This is one of the songs that we play and its always been my favorite.

I came to terms with my addiction three years ago. I had taken the perfectly wonderful body God had given me and trashed it. The guilt and shame I felt about what I had done to myself were seemingly insurmountable. God forgave me long before I did. This song was a big part of my healing process. Thank you, King & Country.
