He’s so slow in the out of possession press it’s crazy. I love him but holy shit he’s not rapid enough to close people down
@andaredvexКүн бұрын
@@isaiahcrump1668 Lol. He's pressing with both speed and purpose, his pressing actions basically start the domino effect of us getting the ball back and then he creates all the space for his team mates when we have the ball. David Laszlo analysed his runs on twitter and it turns out, in PL, Szoboszlai ranks: #1 Sprinting distance per 30 minutes out of possession --- 210.78 m (for reference, Macca #6, Ryan #9) #1 Sprints per 30 minutes out of possession --- 9.04 #1 Sprints per 90 --- 17.92 #2 Sprinting distance per 90 --- 358 m (#1 is Dejan Kulusevski of Spurs) #3 High speed runs per 90 --- 64.26 #2 High speed running distance per 90 --- 848.44 m If you look at his radar chart, he's the fucking point of reference when it comes to getting the most out of a midfielder physically. I get it, him not having a tangible end product can be frustrating to some, but he understands his role better than any of us viewers and he does a magnificent job out of possession. His g/a will improve as well, he just needs to break down that mental roadblock he has.

Robertson in particular, he has lost a yard of space, Satan targeted him in the Arsenal game
@jamesthagreat1343Күн бұрын
I agree, and I think you can already see that Slot agrees based on Tsimi’s increased playing time. Robertson just isn’t good enough in the initial phase/buildup compared to Tsimi, and when combined with the slight decline in recovery pace from Robertson, I think this next summer we go for a long term upgrade at LB and phase Robertson out of the initial 11
@SagarRai-he3tq16 сағат бұрын
@jamesthagreat1343 it's sad man, Robertson was so solid and that left side was always strong. yup, sadly we need to get another lb. good think TAA has improved his defence, cant be having both sides weak

I had the exact same thought a couple of days ago. Mac should be CAM and Szobo should drop as 2nd double pivot with a more box to box role.
@andreionisie16811 сағат бұрын
Macca's distribution and final touch is way better than Szobo's atm even if he is not a dribbler like Cout, etc. Also let's hope we keep Grav fit.
@LeebertoKahambundu8 сағат бұрын
@@victormawira4real with macca at CAM WE WONT HAVE TO PRESS THAT MUCH CAUSE HE CAN MANUVER THE BALL IN TIGHT SPACES SZOBOSLAI IS A WORKHOUSE HE WANTS TO RUN WITH THE BALL YOU CAN SEE THAT WHICH CLEARLY WE DONT NEED THAT TRADE IN THAT CAM POSITION

I think the pressing intensity is one of the biggest problems we have at times as you can see WHY they don't press with such intensity BUT its also becoming an issue for us and we are being bailed out by individual brilliance at the times

Can you do a video o how we can inprove our build up play because Brighton did it better than us in that game
@johncambridge7181Күн бұрын
From what I’ve seen so far. We need that classic 10 who can receive and carry the ball in tight area . That no 10 playmaker. Like coutinho. Szoboszlai is not the answer. I can’t complain too much about slot because he didn’t exactly yet given money to buy his own big player. All I can give to slot is a huge praise for what he has done so far. Yes tbf he inherited a strong squad but it wasn’t that simple there was plenty had to be done.

Macca's first touch and composure is unmatched. Disrespectful from you, absolute top player. It's like telling prime Barca to bench busquets

Ideally i think on matches that the clubs play possession based football from back the 424 isn't the right choice, games like bologna and Brighton made it easy from the opponents to switch for wing play to the middle, a solid 433 would do against teams like arsenal where szoboslai and gakpo could still switch up and let darwin advanced becoming a 4321 with salah and maca/jones on wing, the thing is we still leave the midfield exposed, the best option is to play to the tempo of the game thats why 4131/424 can allow this players switch from a 424 to 442 or 343(against united), its up to the manager he's smart they'll more tweaks
@dontaed.drummond3016Күн бұрын
424 nah work. Ideally if Macca is to start, might be best to play him as the 6 and Grav as the 8 or just stick to the double 6 with a 10. Mac isn't dynamic enough as an 8...at the moment
@kumarreaturaj987311 сағат бұрын
Macca can play better than Curtis and Szoboszlai as a number 10. It's better to employ Szoboszlai/Curtis and Gravenberch as double pivot pairing and Macca up ahead as a number 10

I was seething watching MacAlister against Arsenal, and then again watching him against Brighton. The intensity upfront is obviously not the same since we lost Jota, guy knows how to press better than Nunez. And since the last international break, MacAlister has dropped in ability, could it be his nagging injury?

I honestly don't understand szobo currently. Good things happen either when he's subbed on or when he's subbed off yet we all want him to really succeed. He might have problems especially when Eliot regains last season's form
@Ffxxxx332Күн бұрын
No. He is an integral part of the squad, yet newer football fans, probably you as well because you dont seem to notice this. As explained in the video Slot needs an agressive press in the front four, and Dominik LEADS the press always. He obviously gets fatigued from this, and thats why good things happen sometimes when hes subbed off. We need rotation in his position im afraid, as much as I love him. And not a Harvey Elliott kind of player.
@onyangoagong3148Күн бұрын
@Ffxxxx332 nobody doubts the work rate but for a 10 honestly he can do better. If he did that as an 8 I honestly dont mind but as a 10 surely as new as I might be to football, I can see what other 10's are capable of
@Ffxxxx332Күн бұрын
@onyangoagong3148 but they dont have the same role as Domi. His role isnt goalscoring, but youre right, he could do better if there was some rotation. Of course there is always room for improvement, but with the kind of work he is putting in I dont mind him not scoring every game.

Why people like you are hyping Elliot? I didn't understand.. what the hell had Elliot done that good that you think once he comes back from injury, you think slot will immediately put him in starting 11 in place of szoboszlai 😂.. is Elliot a Jude Bellingham? Is Elliot a cole palmer ? Is Elliot a odegaard ? that kid just a good squad player nothing more than that.. you didn't realize how szoboszlai is important to this slot side..

If jota was playing instead of Nunez in the Arsenal match this wouldn’t be a video. His pressing ability is 100x better than Nunez’s. He’s more intelligent in his runs to press defenders, he gives a lot more effort, and he doesn’t wait like Nunez does. Jota knows exactly what he has to do while nunez looks lost when he presses
@andaredvexКүн бұрын
I think Darwin looked good the past couple of games. He seems way more composed and deliberate than he was under Jürgen. I think he just needs some more time on the pitch to really show his quality.
