I know this was almost a year ago, but he never even tried to catch the boss legendaries when they were lower health, only when they were full health. Then he took an explanation from chat saying that he needed to hatch them before he can catch more.

Ahh the more I watch this, the more I want to play it.. the problem is, I don't have the poke-knowledge. The gameplay loop seems so satisfying though. I was never great at the battles. I was more of a grinder since I had no knowledge. I can remember that I started off playing Pokemon Blue when I was 12 when they first came out. It was so damn good. My first playthrough though..? Ehh. I remember that I started off with charmander, and I caught a pidgey and a pikachu and I just .. couldn't beat brock. It was impossible. I gave up on charmander and pikachu since they did nothing, and focused on pidgey for some reason. I had grinded pidgey up to a pidgeotto, tried again and failed.. so I went back and grinded to pidgeot and I think I STILL lost.. so I went back to grinding and I beat brock with a lv70+ pidgeot. I remember thinking that the "pokemon obey" levels only applied to traded pokemon, cuz all my pokemon were with me for so many hundreds, nay thousands, of battles... they were like children to me. They weren't going to disobey me after following me for 3 centuries. It didn't matter if I only had 2 badges and they were level 60. I wasn't simply their trainer, I was their immortal god. I had their back, they had mine. That was only like 2 months but in a childs' mind, that was forever. I can remember when playing Pokemon crystal I was like level 80 and realized I needed a max level butterfree to pair my scyther for effectively being able to catch the legendary roaming pokemon with hypnosis+false swipe and I literally spent two days in real life (16 hrs each day) just surfing to raise the level. I can't imagine that now. I'd find a more efficient way lol I don't have the attention span!

I was in the exact same boat as you, but my love for roguelikes drew me in and I started seeing how it works and testing the waters, and man.. I WAS AWFUL at it, for the first handful of runs. But the beauty of Pokerogue is that each time you play a run, so long as you are catching mons consistently, you open up more and more ways to approach the game and the hidden genetic stats of your starters permanently improve! (IVs) A huge tip is to keep your pokemon topped of on hp using the item shop even when they are only down 1/4 just in case you need to tank a super effective move! Stat boosting skills carry between wild encounters too! They only reset if you enter a trainer battle or event, or every 10 waves. Use it to your advantage! Anyways, hope you find the motivation to give it a gooooo (PS, the settings has an option to enable the game to tell you how effective a move will be on your target!!!)

You should try Cloyster with skill link and use 5 times attacking moves. If you get a grip claw/kings rock it goes crazy. Always hit 5 times and each has a chance to steal and or flinch. Plus it can learn shell smash

I kinda don't like how eternatus is either way too easy if you have something like salt cure or impossible if you don't have a cheesy strat, very limits which teams you can clear a run with
@eluhrion74063 ай бұрын
endless is very limited I agree, but classic gives you a lot of option because eternatus isnt that big of a threat actually, I've won runs because of the weirdest mons, like a random rain dance gastrodon with earth power and recover just slowly wittling away his hp xD
@TheChefeChapado3 ай бұрын
It's really not that hard, swords dance/nasty plot + earth/psychic/ice moves and you can take him out very consistently. I've beaten classic 5 times now and only had to bank on leech seed once. His AI is awful so sometimes you might need to reset a couple times to get a better path but I haven't lost to him once. Just make sure to set up at least 1 mon before you start breaking his health bar as that boosts him like crazy.
@joshvinas78133 ай бұрын
@@TheChefeChapado how do you have the chance to nasty plot when eternatus 1 shots almost every pokemon ive ever used except garnacl
@TheChefeChapado3 ай бұрын
@@joshvinas7813 first phase is pretty easily cleared by almost any pokemon that resists poison and is decently bulky to survive a flamethrower. Eternabeam might kill but then you get a free turn to set up nasty plot to finish that first phase off. Then it becomes a 2v1 and its AI is horrible. Put two mons with swords dance/nasty plot and a super effective move or 1 set up mon + paralyze/burn/mat flip/yawn/sleep spore (any supporting thing really). DO NOT DAMAGE IT until one of the mons is properly set up otherwise it will get all the boosts and wipe you. From there it should be pretty straight forward. In PokeRogue you always need AT LEAST two mons with set up, ideally 3. You should also always have a "carry" mon who you pump with vitamins and ideally they'll have a ground/dragon/ice/psychic move. Make sure to get x sp def and x def in stages 195-199 to make it wayy easier too. For a hilarious ending get something like a psych up SlowBro and copy all its boosts to 1-2 shot it with Psychic after it uses recover. Hope this helps!
@raphaelgutl2322 ай бұрын
I mean, eternatus only has dragon and poison type moves. So, 1 steel, and a fairy type then switch ( you want 1 each pretty often anyway, since they are good typings with coverage) also, burn and stuff works on him too.
