Absolutely beautiful. Since retiring my husband and I watch the re-runs everyday while eating breakfast. It started with him watching while I was asleep, now I join him. I have always commented on how much Kitty seemed to adore Matt. Excellent acting.

In the old classics they were very careful about how they allowed couples to interact. You find yourself wishing they'd let you see more. I wanted to see Matt and kitty wrapped up in each other's arms in uncontrolled passion but watching it this way allows my imagination to run free and I can take their romance to places far more euphoric and intense right here in my mind and find it to be just as good or maybe even better. Thank you for the nostalgia.

Watching gunsmoke with my dad and remembering him covering my eyes 1955 when Matt even touched kitty.(I was 5 and so In 🥰 with Marshal Dillon)since retirement watching all 20 seasons as an adult I can really appreciate their pure on screen chemistry. When he touches her when he leaves or she touch his arm while talking to him. It's the little things they did that pulled you in. No amount of acting can match what they had in the early black and white episodes. I also agree the imagination is a powerful thing as Arness and Blake stated it would have ruin the show if they got together so I let my mind create so much out of a glance,hug or a touch Charlie Rich Behind Closed Doors

Beautifully put together. When John Wayne announced the first GS, and he introduced James Arness. John Wayne turned down the part of Marshall Dillon. They chose the right person to play the Marshall. Miss Kitty was a perfect match. And the best western weekly series was an all time hit. Got it on my TV right now. Oh Shaw, and we must not forget ,Ole' Doc, Chester, and sweet sweet Festus.

They absolutely did adore each other...and I am amazed to see these old clips and the way Matt just beams at Miss Kitty, and she looks so knowingly at him. My father always felt that there was always the supposition that an intimate relationship existed in between all the scenes we saw. Looking back, one would certainly hope so... Talk about sexual chemistry ...they had it in spades!

Absolutely. One of Arness last video interview 2006 the host asked did Matt love Miss Kitty.. I watched his response "he said yes he loved her" what caught my eye he repeated it again as his voice trailed off(he gathered himself)I felt he was indeed remembering James and Amanda not Matt and Kitty. He was in his eighties.

The episode where the outlaw kidnaps Kitty, brings her back and shoots her in the back in front of the town..... powerful episode. I have been watching and recording Gunsmoke for years. Love it! Memorable episodes:. When Doc leaves and comes back, the first episode of Festis, when Doc get hung,. Millburn Stone is highly under rated as an actor. I like the comedy in the show as well, Chester is hilarious. Every kid today should be exposed to Gunsmoke!!
