So is there a canon reason why Dickey isnt as big n famous as other brutal vocalists cause i dont get it and am gonna need the rest of the industry to WAKE UP
@DragonTigerBoss2 жыл бұрын
There's a lot at play in terms of who gets big, but I think for mass appeal, For The Likes Of You are very proggy and jazzy for metalcore/deathcore, so hardly entry level. As to Austin himself, a Himalayan witch doctor tried to summon the devil one time by doing Austin Dickey's horse scream. While he was successful, Satan cursed all horse screamers to never be as famous as Jared Dines, who is Satan's younger brother. The Hu found a loophole by subharmonically singing about horses without technically horse screaming, thus proving Satan wrong and creating an alternate timeline where Mongolian folk metal is somehow more popular than a guy who's done the Demolisher scream and the To The Hellfire outro completely cold on Twitch streams.

This is y - If this song was released in 2008 it would be a different story , this is more of an og style 2007-13 type of sound , the category has evolved and a lot of good bands who didn't evolve with it fell to the side and out of the scope of listeners, I will say that there are elements to this song that definitely reflect a serious refinement in vocal performance compared to most bands in this category from the early 2000s, but at the same time the problem is that at that time there weren't that many heavy hitters out there with this specific style of sound, I can probably think of 10 bands from back then that were known in this category that sounded like this, but a lot of time has passed and most fans have moved with the evolution over time. And at the same time now you can literally find thousands of small time bands with the 2007 style sound due to more internet access and platforms to hear music , so if you didn't stamp your name hard enough in the mud back then now your stuck back at square 1 with the massive volume of newer bands that have a very similar sound. It's a sad hard truth and I respect bands that stick with making the music they love and don't sell out and change entirely for more money, but at the same time you need to have something that sets you apart. For example Slaughter to Prevail is great, but they are competing with thousands of other hard-core bands that are amazing as well, I was a massive fan of their first 2 albums 🤤 , but they weren't really that well known, but Alex started adding the breakdowns with the insanely unhuman lows to some of his newer songs and boom now they are growing at a massive rate. Gotta find something that sets you apart that you love doing in today's musical climate, or choose to be content on a small scale, and both of those things are totally OK! Nobody should ever feel sad or ashamed that they aren't as well known as the next guy, if ur happy ur happy and that's all that matters. And you can't replicate what someone else is doing to get there either, you have to do some really deep reflection into yourself " what sets me apart, what do I have to offer" . Sorry for the long winded response, but I hope that makes sense. and Dickey if ur reading this as well please don't take this as me saying anything against you or your music because that is not my intention at all. This is all just my logical observation / opinion I have about the comment I'm replying to.

I just wrote a comment on lots of "top core vocalist" videos and told everyone that reads the comment to check out Austin Dickey. I think the only reason he's not in everyone's Top 5 is because they haven't heard him yet and they haven't heard him yet because of soul-decaying, algorithm altering marketing tactics, or rather, the lack of. ♥ Enjoy the gold rush that is Dickey...before the rest of the world comes and tries to claim him.

Such a humble and intelligent dude as well. Austin if you're reading this, you gonna be checking out the new Nitheful album being released in a couple of days?

I'd ask when yall are finally going to get signed, but at the same time, I know how completely terrible that is for a band as a whole. Initially it would be great for publicity, and then to leave the label and have that grown audience. But. That's also a whole thing.
