Great video. I live in western Kansas and I always new I would love fly fishing. 20+ years ago my wife bought me a fly rod for Christmas. I never got to use it. We had two great kids who we loved being involved in all of their activities. Last summer (both of our children are now in college) we took a family trip to Vail and I booked a fly fishing day for my wife and I. I was immediately captured by it. It was everything I thought it would be and so much more. Your video brought back all of those thoughts and feelings from that trip. Planning to section hike part of the Ozark Trail (current River section) and am hoping to get to do some fly fishing (traditional or Tenkara) would appreciate any advice or recommendations that you have. Keep up the great work - Dave

Thank you so much and we live the Current River. Depending on what part I am on I vary from nymphing to streamer fishing. I usually nymph the runs, then target structure and undercuts for reactionary Brown trout strikes. My last trip there was exactly that, Rainbows in the runs and Browns hiding and ambushing. What a beautiful area, you're in for a treat!

Are these streams blessed with healthy aquatic insect populations? Stonefly, caddis and mayfly hatches? Midges? Are the typical Euro nymphing flies effective in these streams? I grew up fishing the Little Red River in Arkansas, which is full of fish, but it’s also full of motorized boats and houses up and down the stream… And, as it’s a tail water stream, one must be aware of rising water levels on a daily basis. I too began fly fishing at seventeen. I’m now seventy-one, and am drawn to the streams just over the Missouri line by reports such as you’ve provided with your lovely video.

Yes they do have bugs, we follow those as well. You will see Jerry boats on the Eleven point. It does feel more wild then the Little Red.
