Nice Tip +for3v3rfaithful..........may I also suggest the use of your thumb for the low E string for chords like F. Also, Bb you can use your pinky on the B and E string 3 frets up. x x 3 3 6 6. Makes a nice sound on the G'tar and can use it all the way up the fret board :-) Enjoying your videos, thnaks!

I can play barre chords but I can’t transition between a barre chord and a normal chord. Can you help me? Maybe do a TMT about that?

Actually when I started learning guitar last year I only barred the two thinnest strings and made a lot of progress. Then a teacher I found convinced nme to learn the full bar chord and that actually set me back by busting the nerve of my fretting hand. It is not worth it and it sound the same. I have spent £2000 for treatment. It has set back my progress as well.

Thanks for sharing this. I am not going to risk injury by continuing to pursue full bar chords, since they hurt so much already. Busting a nerve sounds horrible!

Thighest numbet of strings yo should ever bar is absolutely three and these should be the lowest (thinnest) strings. For the thicker (lower) strings, max is two. That way you will advance fast as a musicial and stay healthy, and you will enhjoy practicing.

Univ Univeral If you seriously want to get better at guitar playing, learn the full barre chords, since they allow you to be independent of a capo, to be more flexible with keys and to play and create interesting strumming patterns or sound effects. I'm sorry about your very unfortunate injury, but dont blame the full barre chords themselves just yet. Instead, see if the strings you've been using are too heavy for you, or if the action is too high for you, or if you've been barring incorrectly. Full barre chords are tough, I admit, but being able to get these down is really a rite of passage when it comes to playing the guitar. So work at it, check your guitar and your technique again, and good luck.

Tung, you are wrong. I have never used a capo and I have played chhords in many keys. Partial bar chords are equally moveable. All my closed chords have at least 4 strings and at most 5 strings. That is many enough for moveability. Only my power chords have three strings as usual. The full bar chord is only useful to me in theory, and i play with just that theory.
