As a forager, this video was a ton of fun. There's an abundance of free food everywhere! The dandelion flower is my favorite! Fritters baby!

I grew up picking wild plants and herbs with my grandma who has an old order Mennonite we would go camping with our dad who as a Mennonite he taught us what plants can be used as tea and medicine and can be used for cooking and baking. Our great great great great great grandparents use wild plants and herbs in their homes for tea and medicine and cooking and baking. Now I am teaching my kids and my sisters and brothers kids why wild plants and herbs can be used for.

Some dandelion flowers are sweet and some are not.. just depends if it's been dried out in the sun or not. The flowers that have the darker yellow are the sweeter ones.

I didn't catch which tree it was she said was also known as the lettuce tree with the asymmetrical leaves at the base. Do you remember what they were? They looked like either birch or popular leaves.

That tick is a lone star tick, identifiable by the white spot on its back. It does not carry Lyme's disease, but is a vector for STARI, which has similar symptoms to Lyme's and should be taken seriously.
