I deeply miss the wild berries in Ohio that grew in the woods behind my house. No idea what they were but they seemed like small, intensely flavored raspberries that were almost the color of blackberries. One of my favorite parts of my childhood was waking up, putting on a long sleeves and pants to protect from thorns and going foraging out there by myself.

Rubus rosifolius and Rubus mollucanus- well they might be rare where you were looking, but they're super abundant in Eastern Australia. I've got thickets of them on my property and they grow everywhere in the district and up and down the east coast and dividing range.

I know you've done a show on them before, but right in NY state within easy distance of the city the Chinese raspberries/wineberries are ripe. Native blackberries too of course. If you want to load up now's the time. I pulled at least a gallon off of the volunteers on the edge of my yard just yesterday, it's a good year for them.
