I have a question, In Grays anatomy this is mentioned that foramen lacerum is closed in life by a cartilaginous plug, and no structures pass through it completely.so why you mentioned all the vessels?

During life the lower part Of the foramen is filled with cartilage and no significant structure passes through the whole length of canal except for the meningeal branch of the ascending pharyngeal artery and an emissary Vein from the cavernous sinus however the upper part of the foramen is traversed by internal carotid arteries with Venus and sympathetic plexus around it
