Please don't leave your dogs/cats behind. Today it's not that hard to find a pro animal hotel. Where I live most hotels allow dogs/cats. IIRC most Hiltons allow them. I know for sure the Homewood Suites by Hilton do. That's where I always stay when I travel and I sometimes bring my dog with me and they're a super dog friendly place to stay.

I don't blame her. I know she has all but had it. The governor of Alabama just straight out get people told who do not get covid shots after she has begged and pleaded with them. After a while of pleading with people to do what common sense ought to get them to do and they won't listen, You get tired and just want to say "OK, it's your funeral". The woman in blue is inadvertently clutching and wringing her hands but trying to keep her composure. Born and raised in Florida,in Ohio now. Went through Charlie...4 major hurricanes that year. Stop and think guys, if a hurricane is 100 miles wide moving 10 miles an hour and you get close to or a direct hit that's 10 hours of whatever sustained winds plus gusts on top of that. This is about 150 mph plus gusts and hurricanes spawn tornadoes in the rain bands. Can your garage doors,windows,roofs,etc withstand that? There's been a lot of rain in the past 2 weeks and the ground is saturated. Trees are going to be uprooted. It isn't a joke. It's life or death decision. God bless and protect.

I'm sorry to hear this but sadly it was inevitable that some people just won't listen to reason, if you can still talk to him?, at least ask him to get themselves to higher ground ASAP !!!, its better to end up being soaking wet but not drowned !!!, at least then they can still be rescued by someone later !, sorry to say but there is no use praying to GOD!!! that's not going to help !, you need to convince him to at least seek higher ground, I hear there could be as much as 15 feet of storm surge possible , & even with the lower end of 8 feet, that's still going to make survival difficult/risky at best !!!, and also get as far away from any piles of debris from the last one , if possible as there could be missiles galore during the night , please try if you can !!!.!

Because even in a life and death situation people for whatever reason will balk or stall with hesitation, uncertainty and doubt. Their minds are numb with utter disbelief about what is going on around them or what is certain to come. They are lulled into a false sense of security by their long held possessions, their home with the kids and grandkids pictures in the familiar place and besides "I don't believe it's going to be as bad as they say", or " I have never had to move before" or "I will be all right. I trust God." And sometimes, it doesn't end so well.

There is absolutely no reason one person should remain in the evacuation zones. The counties have prepared for this hurricane and have done an excellent job of securing safe shelters for everyone's needs. It's unbelievable the people who think they can live through the might and power of God in the magnitude of this storm. Why anyone would stay is beyond me. And, why would anyone want to endanger the lives of first responders due to their own stubbornness and stupidity. It's one thing to put your own life at risk, but to actually not think of other people's lives is unimaginable! May God have mercy on the State of Florida. I had fly out to Orlando for work on Monday and was planning on catching a flight back on Wednesday. My flight back was canceled so I drove 18 hours from Orlando to Erie Pennsylvania. I got home yesterday at 4 pm and slept really well. Hope everyone is safe
