It’s the same in Canada. I had to be charged a visa fee for flair airline. They charge you less for tickets but then they overcharge you when you’re about to check in. They charge you $25 for checking you in which literally takes them 2 mins. They purposely take longer for this reason too. Airlines in NA are overcharging people everyday and people have no other options.

I worked on Spirit aircraft as a contractor. I would never put my butt on the banana boat. I was at a line station and did scheduled overnight checks. A job that should take an hour and a half often took 3 to 4 because their main base maintenance didn’t do their jobs. This was around 2010-13. Judging by this guys testimony, i doubt much has changed.

Waiting for my flight to board....no airplane waiting for 3 hrs & finally one arrives, we all boarded but sat another hour for the pilot to figure out a flight plan that would allow us to make it to our destination with the amount of fuel we had....(an engine had blown)...& in the end the pilot made the determination he could not get us safely to our destination so we had to get off and go to another gate. The engine blew before it got to Charlotte...it was to fly to Tulsa and back to FL. WITH A BLOWN ENGINE. Who thought that was a good idea. Yeah boy I want to fly with that airline again...said no one ever.

This is a manipulative way of avoiding price comparisons after the sale. Upselling fees after the ticket or flight has been committed. As a passenger, always be prepared to refuse to fly and walk away and go on another airline or flight. Be disruptive, cause a delay in departure, and don’t allow these fools to win.

Oh, what a delight it is to fly with these airlines that perfectly obey international laws! Who wouldn’t want to be completely starving for six hours just to avoid a free meal? And let’s not forget the joy of retrieving our underwear at no extra charge-what a generous gesture! Those tiny cups of coffee they serve, filled to the brim with ice, are truly gourmet. Timeliness? Pfft, who needs it? The thrill of wondering if you’ll arrive on time just adds to the excitement! And those seats? Ah, nothing like being crammed into a glorified torture device for hours on end. And the crew’s attitude? Simply the warmest welcome you could hope for! I really hope they keep doing absolutely nothing about all of this!

What saddens me is that as a small business when you treat people poorly it doesn’t last very long until you’re belly up. When you’re a mega corporation you have the power to do that and screw over everyone in the process. All while being able to grow your top and bottom line. We need more competition now and the red tape removed. And this isn’t just an issue with the airlines
@frotobaggins71695 сағат бұрын
Only because the profits and revenue is diluted over millions of people rather than thousands. If huge sectors of the public refused to be treated like cattle and not fly, these guys would sing a different tune. But right now, they are rich, powerful and they don't care what you think or do, people "have" to fly and these guys are free to do as they wish. The only way to win is not to play their stupid game, refuse to fly.
@bplmedia5 сағат бұрын
@ 100% correct which is why I don’t anymore. Haven’t flown in ages and will not in the future anytime soon. What we really need though everywhere is more competition to force everyone to clean it up. All these conglomerates act this way because they can and they know they can

Just think, us taxpayers pay for the airline's air traffic operations. Us taxpayers bailed out these airlines after 9/11 and during COVID. It's way past time these airlines pay for their own air traffic control, and leave the taxpayer out of it forever.
@frotobaggins71695 сағат бұрын
I'm sure they pay in fees and taxes.
@23rdMS_Inf5 сағат бұрын
That would be a stupid move. Airlines need more regulations and consumer protection laws. I think you're so ideologically consumed that you're afraid to admit that these airlines need government oversight. If they paid for these operations, they would pass those costs to the consumer. Air travel is a necessity in the 21st century; it's like saying we should stop paying taxes for roads since semi-trucks ruin them.
@mscotthowell14 сағат бұрын
@@23rdMS_Inf 'If they paid for these operations, they would pass those costs to the consumer'. The users of these airlines should bear the cost of air traffic operations not the taxpayer.
