Not only your right but your duty. Public criticism is the force that checks corruption/misuse of political power in a democracy. I wonder if it's the lack of integrity the media have that has allowed corruption of power to go unchecked, especially over the last 2 decades or since the Telecommunications Act under Clinton (and due to falling profits from online competition and having to accept funds from anyone willing to pay). To Forbes credit, it's very encouraging to see them post this.

Well, once upon a time anyways. We gave up those rights when we proved in the last 30 year 'we the people' won't do shyt in response to expanding federal powers, violating the constitution, & ignoring SCOTUS rulings. Last 20 years of voter turn out compared to social media complaints show us the reality of today.

There was nothing unconstitutional. At the end of the day the decision was made by twitter. As such twitter has the right to block, censor, remove anything they want, anyone they want, at any time they want, for any reason or no reason at all. Congress has no authority over twitteror who they censor or who they ban and really, she should have just told them to mind their place and stay in their lane because twitter does not answer to them and never will

Slightly disagree. There is accountability, that is what this hearing is about. But as the lady answering questions said, "that was someone else," which absolutely begs for the question, "Why was that person not the one answering the questions?" Typically, it takes a decade to work through the legal system. What with discovery, delays, lower court findings, mid court overturns, upper level court scheduling and review; you need millions of dollars to press the issue, against a government that can (and will) outspend you ten to one without batting an eye. Over a parody account that the government had illegally shut down? Nope. Cut your losses, cry in your beer, and start another account. But sometimes... Like the case about suppressing thi information about vitamin D. 72% reduction in hospital admissions, and 50% reduction in deaths of hospitalized patients. Add it up, and 2/3 of all covid deaths could have been avoided. And vitamin D treatment was suppressed. That, to me, sounds like a class action lawsuit worth trillions. (Let's see if this response posts!)

@paulminchk6145 As a 60 year old guy, I watch a lot of these congressional hearings that cover all sorts of topics pertaining to the, frankly, collapse of our Constitutional Republic. The ONE COMMON theme, is that all congressional hearings are basically for show. As you note Sir, NO ONE, is EVER held accountable. The crimes that government employees commit are always far more egregious than what normal American citizens commit on a daily basis, because the crimes that the government employees commit, affect ALL Americans. I’m sure that screwtoob will shadow this comment just like the other one was, that did not show up in response to your comment. Merry Christmas

@@cymeriandesigns What did I get wrong, exactly? The FACT that Ashley Biden kept a diary? The FACT that AB left said diary behind at a hotel? The FACT AB called the finder of the diary, acknowledged IT BELONGED TO HER and threatened to get Secret Service involved? The FACT that the FBI unlawfully raided a journalist’s home and business in order to retrieve the diary? (Which would lead one to ask - why would the FBI raid a news organization for a diary that did not belong to Ashley Biden?) The FACT Ashley Biden speaks of “inappropriate showers with dad” when she was a young teenage girl in the diary? Everything above is true and factual. Defending the indefensible does not strengthen the Democratic Party, no matter how much the media lies. Covering up the crimes of one person only protects that person. And it’s not a two way street. Biden and the rest of the elites would throw you and everyone else under the bus without blinking an eye. But they can get away with anything and everything because they’ve convinced people like you that they have your best interest at heart. Oh, and if you have a problem with a man taking showers with his teenage daughter, then Trump will get back into office and democracy will die. So, we all just need to let Joe get away with it.

Government at all levels hate when we stand up for our rights! I am a retired 23 year military veteran. Staples MN started doing rental inspections 3 years ago and I have told them from the beginning that I require a warrant for city officials to enter my apartment. The first 2 years they just did not bother me. This year, my rental company gave me 24 hour notice and I informed them that they could come in but the city inspector would need to get a warrant. They showed up and I refused entry to the city inspector as he did not get a warrant. He threatened police action and fines, I turned him away. My rental company had their lawyer send a letter threatening legal action if I did not comply. I informed them I would not give up my rights. I consulted 2 law firms that both told me initially that I had to allow the inspector in if the rental company gave me 24 hour notice. The first law firm I just told they did not know the law and hung up. The second law firm, I told them that everything they just told me was completely backwards from what "MN Supreme Court, City of Golden Valley v. Wiebesick and U.S. Supreme Court, Camara v. Municipal Court" stated. She said to let her read over what I was talking about and would call me the next morning. Was actually the next evening when she called and her exact words were, "I don't know what to tell you Mr. Wenzel but to my complete and utter shock, you are 100% right and we have been telling our clients the wrong information for at least 12 years. According to her, everything they have done since I insisted on a warrant is illegal as I have protections. After providing case law to the law firm, they took less than 24 hours to review the information and tell me I was right. The city attorney has been “reviewing” the information for weeks without any resolution. The city is holding up the rental license of the management company until I comply. It is my belief they are trying to get the management company to evict me as when their license runs out, they will have to kick everyone out of the building or evict me and let the city in.

@@keithziegler8881people do if Twitter is considered the public square. Also government has zero right to request any medium censor its users. That is a clear 1A violation.

@@hadtocheathimtobeathim6549 Your opinion that the government doesn't have the right to make that request is noted and dismissed because you're wrong… They had the right to make a request just like anybody else does. And since twitter is not part of the public square, and then not considered part of the square under the 230 protection that they have the government cannot force them to be a member of the public square. So, the government can make a request and then twitter can decide yes or no at their discretion because it is their authority alone. It is well understood we are setting up that using Twitter is a privilege, not a right and they can resend that right from anyone, at any time, for any reason, or no reason at all. And is nothing the government can do to change that because the 230 protections are an international treaty that the government does not have the authority to change

Why do these committees always have limited time? - I witness MUST answer the questions or risk being held 'in contempt', surely that's how courts work? - perhaps sitting in a cell for a few days will concentrate their minds so they can give a simple yes / no answer.

What is disturbing is to realize this still must be going on on other platforms. We only got a glimpse behind the curtain this time because Elon Musk made it public. I wonder if FOIA could be used to obtain public officials' communications with social media entities. If not, time to update the law so it can.
