That's something that used to happen in the Middle Ages when the peasants created resources and they paid part of it to their landlords (the local lord) and part to the church. That was how the upper crust got taxes to pay for things like battle axes and fine clothes. The modern monetary system is far different. Nowadays, the government creates the currency and spends it out into the economy when it supplies itself with the goods and services it wants. That money moves through the economy until it ends up on your paycheck. THEN you pay taxes on it, at THE END of the process. If taxes supported the government, you would have to come up with the cash at the beginning of the cycle like the peasants in the Middle Ages did There are several reasons for taxes nowadays but the government needing them to pay for things isn't one of them.
