Here is another well known fact - often when something is free the commitment to be successful is less appreciated. Where is the drive and ambition to succeed when you know that even if you fail it doesn’t matter because it didn’t cost you anything. We are influencing young people to be given everything without effort. There certainly are young people that absolutely need help. And in some instances, if you have a young person thrilled they will have the opportunity go to college, I’m guessing they will achieve higher and greater than lazy kids that are going for the fun of it because it is free. Historically, the person that earns their way with hard work and dedication will out achieve those that feel entitled.

In TN they have the TN promise which states if a student maintains a certain GPA will get 2 yrs of free community college. I believe it only covers certain qualifications.

If you want college or even trade school, pay for it. it’s not or should be at no cost to the student and place the burden to everyone else. It would be used and abused and I guarantee the graduation rates would go way down. Asking for highly educated professionals to teach means they want to be compensated for their time. It’s going to cost money. Simply put, nothing is FREE

Mark, you mean like automotive repair, RN, LPN, EMT, natural resources, park rangers, wildlife conservation, police science, computer programming, computer repair you mean things like that? Can't speak for any other community College except the one I went to which had all of these and I believe a business management course, even something about movie production and culinary arts, do you think am associate of applied science degree in thoes would help the economy and rebuilding the country

People have to earn education and what’s the incentive to keep going if they’re not paying for it and they’re not responsible for it they have no obligation to finish those classes and they’re wasting a whole bunch of money that somebody has to pay for
