I always admired John Force and all he had to work thru to get where he is now. I won the Motel 6 Who Got The Light contest for Maple Grove, PA. and I and my young son (his birthday weekend) was guest of Cory McClenathan's pit area. I awarded John Force an award on stage before Sundays final eliminations. I met his wife and she was holding John's breifcase while we went up on stage. What a great weekend. I met all the top fuel & funny car racers. I watched the entire race from the starting line with all the sponsors. I had some much rubber on my shirt from all the burnouts. What a weekend. I even had vip parking with all the pro racers. Got tour of the entire track, tech area, press box, everything, dinner with the sponsors, watching the team from inside the roped off area. And was even on live tv. WOW. My son and I even stayed at the Motel 6 in King of Prussia, PA. What a GREAT WEEKEND. My son loved talking with Jim Head and JR Todd.

I flew from Washington Dulles to LAX, went straight to Alamo rent a car, drove straight to (hwy 90) Yorba Linda to visit John Force's headquarters and shop. I met his older daughter there. John and everyone else was at Pomona for the winternationals. John's daughter was so nice to me. Ah Man I was SO HAPPY to have visited there. I took pictures and was SO THRILLED to be at John Force Racing headquarters. I even took pictures of the back, side, and anything dealing with the headquarters. I then drove to my hotel past mountains, a huge farm and a prison to Ontario and took a shower got some sleep before I headed to Pamona for the Friday night qualifying. I stayed until Monday and spent the entire weekend at Pamoma. I even met Dale Pulde in the pits. He was running Funny Car (War Eagle). What a FANTASTIC trip that was. LOVED EVERY SECOND.

The passion that exudes with every word from John about his racing history, the present and the future, is noting short of an inspiration. To see the most humble of beginnings to the empire that JFR is today...is noting short of phenomenal. And that it's been built by a man with a never say die attitude, and that he leaves absolutely nothing to chance makes it all the more inspiring. God Bless you John, your family and the extended family that is JFR (incl. Eric)...the world of drag racing across the world would be a very much poorer sport without you!!!!! Cheers from Aus!!!!

I grew up in the 70's watching John Force give the other drivers a run for their money. I remember the grinch car like it was yesterday. Yeah, John was also the loudest drag racer of all the drivers. Every time he did a run, the cameras would be in his face and John would be yelling. Some pretty histeracle. When his girls started driving, I thought I'd never see the day. Well, the day is here and kicking ass just like their dad. I can picture John at 80 years old still flying down the track (on fire) in the future. Hope that recent wreck he had didn't harm him. I'm still trying to find the time to visit the John force museum. I wouldn't mind meeting John in person. That would be so cool ! I have a simple bucket list, John force museum, meet John in person, purchase a race piston that John destroyed during a run.

@geomodelrailroader6 жыл бұрын
he nearly did remember the scene when a Schumacher driver came into Team Force's pit and removed a head plate and Danny's and Tony's fight afterwards in Don's pit? This sabotage by Schumacher Motorsports caused John to crash in Dallas when a chunk of rubber got sucked into to his intake and went into the cylinder that Schumacher sabotaged. Today Team Force makes their own engines this way their rivals can not sabotage them at the track. The day John crashed in 07 was the day the Force Sisters entered the race. Ashley beat Schumacher's driver Danial Hood in Atlanta and married him, Courtney got Woman's Tittle in her 100th race, and Brittany she broke the land speed record in her dragster after beating her sister. Team Force is more then a family they are a team and as a team they help each other.

My family & I were there for much of it , from 1993 till about 2016. WE started out when I first brought our 9 year old son to the 93 “SEARS CRAFTSMAN NATIONALS” @ “HEARTLAND🌾PARK TOPEKA.. After that, it was me & the kids, then the whole family going to our Home track @ “HEARTLAND🌾PARK” , then DENVER, ST. LOUIS & The US. NATIONALS... IN 2005 I began working with TEAM RFC as a Chaplain & started seeing you all up a bit closer at both ends of the track, like when you LIT’ EM UP @ the Tower ... WELL, IT was a fun & rewarding run as I finally stepped out in 2016 after a lot of memories , most of them Good... But part of it was because in 2012 on my 62nd Birthday My little racing buddy that I first took to the track in 93, HAD NOW bought me for my birthday, tickets to the GREATEST SPECTACLE IN RACING, to See the 96th Running, for something that was a life long dream since i was very young... We continued to go every year since ( with the exception of THIS YEAR 2020😥 of coarse ) so it hampered my working the NHRA NATIONALS in Topeka... ANYWAY, looks like U R doing well, and hope that next 30 years will be good to you...👍

John is not joking about the truck at 0:34 back in the Poverty Days Team Force use to park their trucks outside of John's apartment in Yuba Linda California. One scene I remember from Right on Track is John is talking to Courtney about the race and a cop is at the door and gives John a ticket. Next second John is out the door and he has to move his truck down the street into their driveway while Courtney has to move her convertible onto the grass. 1:00 John then upgraded to his first 18 but the problem was the Dorsey trailer did not have all the comforts of home it had living quarters but the pit was so small it took a 30 ton crane just to unload it and John could not afford to feed his crew. 2:07 today Team Force travels in style One command truck which holds their towing and command vehicles and is painted white (in the past they had a bus but John does not use it anymore today the team either flies to the race or drives to the race and sleeps in their trailers Media Relations and Public Relations use the command truck this is Ashley's and Adria's mobile office), 4 car transports which carry the whole team and the primary and the secondary car plus four backups for each crew member which are loaded with shells and chassis in case a car gets destroyed 16 trucks total. And today instead of going to the junkyard Team Force builds everything from scratch in Indy. It took 40 years to get here and Team Force worked to get this far. Over the years Team Force also absorbed some teams or merged or founded new ones. On the Indy Car circuit they co own Rahal Letterman Racing who have their shops right across the street in Brownsburg Courtney serves as manager for their team. On the Jr. Dragster and SuperComp circuit they have the same trailers and crew cabs John had when Team Force was founded except the Grandkids are using them just like when Ashley, Brittany, and Courtney used them when they were getting started. The Supercomp cars have since upgraded to Jayco trailers John is now stenciling them so they can be used as transporters. For the time being Austin who is a rookie is leasing Brittany's transporter and Brittany is using Courtney's old transporter which at a time use to belong to Ashley.

John is not joking about the truck from Poverty Days. Right on Track and Driving Force which are based on the exploits of Team Force have scenes where John is talking to Courtney about the race and the sheriff shows up at the door with a ticket and tells him to move his truck. The girls and Uncle Louie had to help John back the truck into the driveway and Courtney, Brittany, and Ashley had to find a new spot for their cars because each night the street sweeper shows up and the cop writes you a ticket MOVE IT! and each night John had to move his truck. today that truck and the car are at the Force Museum in Yuba Linda and Team Force now hauls all their equipment in the big 18s which they use to transport the team. Word is John is reusing the truck and trailer or using a truck and trailer that is identical to the first crew cab and trailer and he uses it to take the Grandkids to their races. One crew cab and trailer can hold three Supercomp cars and that is all they need to transport Autumn, Jacob and Noah to their races.

It's a shame you need so much money today. As it has shut out all but the ones that can afford $8 Million dollars a year. To run a season. A shop that is worth $4 million at least. That will be the demise of racing in the future. As NASCAR is having these very same issues..
@Spinsane946 жыл бұрын
Part of Nascar's issue is that they let it get out of hand. To sponsor a NASCAR full time is more expensive than 3 indy cars and beats funding funny car by a mile. that and the business model for funding a team is bad. NHRA seems to have it under control somewhat. it's just that they need to market the sport better to put eyes back on the sport.
@tylerbonser76863 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. I see your point but with any technology the more it advances the more expensive it gets. When racing started out and the internal combustion engine had been around for only decades there was room for improvement and it came down to ingenuity and trial and error to make things faster. Now racing is pushing the laws of physics and what the human body can take. It was believed that in the 1/4 mile a car couldn't go faster than 100 mph then couldn't surpass 200 mph and certainly couldn't go faster than 300 mph. Gains use to be in mph and 10th's of seconds. Now gains are in 10th's of a mph and 100th and 1000th's of a second. Racing will die out because the next generations aren't interested not because it gets to expensive.

Hell there not even Ford\Chevy engines. As there all based off the 426 Chrysler Hemi design...Just slap some decals\Valve covers on them and they call it a Ford or Chevy.. My hunch is. The day will come when they actually have to be based on production motors. To help cut cost or risk losing the sport to millionaires only...Not to mention slow them down. As the cost to make a track longer with more run off. Will cost the tracks a fortune..
