I recently Just got back into SC6 so this was extremely helpful! I fought a Knightmare literally right after watching this and got a perfect due to him trying to abuse those terror charges and Armoring.

Awesome guide I hope to see more matchup guides in the future. It really helps new players understand what other characters are doing especially when you don't know all the inputs. I do have one correction AGA/ABA are actually +2 on block meaning he can actually trade with other characters i12 moves up close and apply better pressure. It also may have been worth talking about his super and how to play around it with lows.

Ah, did a:g:A & a:b:A get buffed on block? It maxed out at +1 when I produced my Nightmare guide this past Spring. Oh, yeah, overlooked Nightmare's CE because it operates very similarly to his Soul Wave revenge moves with the GI and counter attack. Throws and lows still beat it out, (though of course the CE can be sidestepped and launch punished).

Another thing to note is the chip damage during terror charge moves. Especially when someone thinks they’re safe at just blocking everything. That’s the main thing I do when I’m using nightmare. And putting pressure also with mixups/guard breaks

Yes, Nightmare's chip damage is brutal. TC 6BBB & TC 236A+B deal devastating damage and chip.

How do you block nightmare ultimate attack?

If you see it, then just press the guard button to block it, however if you see flames, you need to sidestep in order avoid the unblockable. Actually to be safe, as soon as you see Nightmare's CE start-up, sidestep then launch punish on reaction.

I tell you my boy is not the greatest player, but he routinely beats me, my best characters with fucking Nightmare LIKE ALL THE TIME! This is the first game I felt like he was objectively better than Siegfried, in pretty much every way! That damn terror charge 66bbb or whatever it is it's some BUUUUUUULLLLSHIIIIIIITTT! BUT hopefully these strategies plus a few others will help keep me off the mat. Thanks!

Hmm... In SCVI I'd actually say that Seigfried is definitely up there with Nightmare. Siggy is a lot better in SCVI than he was in SCV. Glad I could help!

The only thing I feel that's missing is how to deal with nightmare in Night Terror Charge, I play most short range characters and have ran into some Nightmares who will use 6A+B right at the beginning of the match before I can even get in. FYI these players are in A rank/S rank with over 25 win streaks, so in my head this method works for them. But need a guide on how to deal with NTC once you're in the situation as well.

Nightmare is broken😂 I proved it to my friend who I play competitively with. He was whooping me with 2b then I pulled out nightmare and I won every time. Any character he chosed I took down with NM 🤘😁

As a Nightmare Main, Rank A2 on Xbox, I can safely say that this video is right. But Nightmare also has a hard time with characters with low horizontals, like Ivy, Mitsurugi and Siegfried. Luckily, Namco has buffed him nicely on the last two patches, even gave him a i12!

Surprised by the Nightmare buffs in the post-Setsuka patches. He's never really been a "bad" character. Always been fairly strong, and in the hands of a Keev, an absolute monster. However, Nightmare can get blown up really easily if misused compared to safer characters.

I need help against nightmare, when you say that soul wave is weak to grabs, what do you mean? I can't be fast enough to crouch every single time that he wants to do the punch in the face, and if I do a quick AA he goes into soul wave. i am struggling a lot

Grabs can beat out the Soul Wave move. An AA will get hit by the revenge attack of a Soul Wave. If Nightmare does Soul Wave alot, hit him with grabs or lows.

As a nightmare main; you forgot to mention his NSS aB. If you whiff and he hits you with that, it can lead to big damage and can even combo into soul attack. Also, NM does have an i12, that my friend would be his 236 A+G, or GS A+G, it’s an un-techable throw that grabs low and grants terror charge

Yeah NSS~aB is a dangerous vertical attack. Only went over a few things here to keep the video under 15 minutes. 236A+G, the new low throw added in Season 2? You can't punish standing strikes with that so it's not really the same as a 5AA or 5K standing punish for instance.

@@ForceofNature99 I see what you mean with the 236 A+G. However, I do wanna point out it can grab tech crouches, which seems to be NM’s biggest weakness. I find throwing it out sometimes will work.

@@vampyerion6804 Yes. It was a nice addition to NM's moveset in S2 to combat people that like to tech crouch. Including in anticipation of a Grim Stride for instance.
