Over 1,500 soldiers rehearse for role in historic Trooping the Colour

More than 1,500 soldiers and 300 horses have been rehearsing for their role in the first Trooping the Colour under the reign of King Charles III.
They were taking part in the Brigade Major's Review at Horse Guards Parade - the inspection marks the last behind-closed-doors rehearsal before Trooping the Colour on 17 June.

The guards where still doing phase 1 basic training at pirbright in the mid 90s then went to catterick for phase 2. Some of the sergeant majors who've been in for years will remember it as the guards depot pirbright.

The closure of Guards Depot shows. What we have seen is pretty basic stuff. Recruit-level performance. Not done well.

That's right, this will be King Charle's first TOTC as King... Will he be dismounted, though? Or on foot at the review stand?

I've seen two practices: one with a carriage for HM and the other; as shown in this clip: where someone is standing in and riding where the King would be.

I don't think he'll be riding a Horse so HM will probably in an open Carriage during the parade the same as the Queen did after the 1981 TOTC, but that was mostly because of the incident that could have had her thrown from Burmese, her favourite Horse if he hadn't been well trained with loud noises and the fact that she was very skilled at Horse Riding...but we won't know till the day because they don't let on exactly what is happening because of Terrorist Threats and the looney Republican Protesters that are determined to embarrass themselves and ruin everything for everyone else no matter how dangerous it is for all involved

Or maybe the the Army has realised that if you talk to people like adults and explain where and how mistakes are being made, then people will actually work for you. Apart from when giving orders at a distance, I never raised my voice on the square. You can’t shout knowledge into existence. You sound like a National Serviceman who had to be blindly screamed at to even get out of your pit.
