Techniques have been honed and lessons learnt from WW1, WW2, and the Falklands + many more conflicts and other instances such as HMS Nottingham in 2002. All very effective and work greatly to keep the ship floating.

Good to have something physical, analogue, reliable with you like that old horn instead of some potentially unreliable digitised piece of technology that could randomly fail on you when you need it most! Same goes for wind up torches/flashlights as opposed to battery/electric ones etc!

There's a lot variety when it comes to warships, even just with the RN, nevermind other navies. But my favourite platform is a Type 23. I was part of RCMD's BOST 10 years ago now and it was the best training I've ever had.

Have you thought of using water canons for anti drone defence. Like water blasters, maybe with multiple nozzles pointing in the general direction. Could be useful for some types of drones, plenty of water and a holding tank in a elevated position could give instant supply. Aiming it in the right direction could be achieved by just opening the valve of the nozzles pointing in the right direction.

New abilities in combat plus old ones that are still very much a danger, make the survival of the modern warship not an assured one. The crew make the difference.
