the reason why everyone loves your videos is because they are SO genuine and show your real day to day life. i won't be the first or last to say this but the girlies don't exist!! TRUE girlies do accidentally wake up at 2pm sometimes, and seeing that from you makes us all feel a bit better. it took me a really long time to stop feeling guilty about not sticking to an unrealistic 'routine' and start being kinder to myself, but i think you should be really proud of getting through the day/week/year 💜

"I've been rotting for an hour, so we're not off to a great start" felt that in my soul. Tried these "That Girl™" routines over and over again, until I realized that I need to find my own routine. Though I feel bad for not being as productive as seemingly everyone else around me, I know that sticking to my own routine helps me prevent mental breakdowns and generally keeps my other symptoms of my mental illnesses at bay. And don't stress about what you're recording, Annika!! The reason you pulled me into your videos was specifically *because* you were and continue to be honest that you're not on top of things every single day and that you *do* struggle with your mental illnesses and that you're communicating that. Personally, that helped me feel less weird for not being "That Girl™". Keep on going, Annika!!

I just wanted to say, thank you for posting this video. I rather see you be yourself and go through relatable struggles then you pretend to be like other creators who seem "perfect". Those "perfect" routine girls are struggling, just like you. I loved watching this video and found myself relating so hard. I hope you keep posting content like this. Thank you Annika

Some things to do when you wake up early but have nothing to do! 1. Start a new series (and get unhealthily obsessed with it) 2. Start a new book (and unhealthily romanticise it) 3. Start learning a language (and feel superior)

you’re so comforting to watch because you’re so real and honest about your feelings and your struggles and it really helps to see someone going through the same things. you will get through this, you’re such a strong person and i have all the hope for you

hey miss annika, take it from a 31 year old hag - those "productive girlies" are not like that 24/7. nobody's got it all figured out - and honestly? i much prefer seeing videos like this where someone had a plan, it didn't go as expected, and they still survived to the end of the day. you know why? because it's realistic. i simply cannot watch the videos of these 21 year old girls with their matcha lattes and 6am gym routines and tea + journaling for an hour, etc., etc., because it's never real. it's a slice of their life that went right that day, but I guarantee you very few, if any of them, actually do all of that each day (and the ones who do, great! good for them! but that's just not how I work and that's OKAY). so you just keep it up, take your naps, and give yourself a hug. i don't typically relate to girls your age so i don't watch their content, but you remind me of when i was your age (ONCE AGAIN I AM AN OLD HAG) and it brings me joy to see you do your thing the way you do it! keep shit weird, osterlund~!

Honestly if I’m being honest seeing videos about people being “That girl.” Or trying to be the best themselves is kinda hard to watch. I mean don’t get me wrong I’m so proud of them and everything but I end up feeling bad about myself and sometimes I really want to see people like you it feels so nice to be understood. Especially when you turn your experiences even the ugly ones into funny content. It makes me happy and feel understood. Which really makes people’s day. So I think your really inspiring, girlie. I always look forward to your videos and wish you the best. So keep being real and relatable. Your my favorite content creator at the moment. And your so funny and cute. And that said’s a lot about you! Love ya.

THANK YOU!!! thank you. I like just got dumped and also i I just like can't with anything and I'm having a reallyyyyy hard time staying on top of college apps, AP classes, keeping my room clean, exercising. It feels awful bc everyone around me is done with apps (IN NOVEMBER?!) and stays on top of it and it's not the video you set out to make but it really helped more than those I-woke-up-at-5 girlies. thank you.

Oh Annika! I missed you! I'm so glad that you're not like those other girlies! I wish my daughter would vlog, but no. She won't. That sucks. So I watch other NYU vloggers to get a sense of her world. You're my favorite! I love your manic editing style! You're so dramatic! You're so original!!! ❤ I wish I was your therapist. At 64, there's so much I feel I know about what you're going through there girl! Have you tried meditation? I have but I rarely do it. I prefer to move. I go for hikes and use my phone as a therapist. It's cheaper. I just do a brain dump into the voice recorder while I get my 10,000 steps in. I burn calories, lose weight, and save a ton on psychotherapy! But people look at me funny. 😂 I was in NY last August to help her move into her dorm. I bought an NYU t- shirt and wore it on the plane home. And because I did I met a bunch of other parents! It was an emotional moment for all of us! 😢

@@AnnikaOsterlund I’ve been watching you for years. 😭I’m not a hater there’s no reason to get defensive when you’re the one crying online about being depressed. @@AnnikaOsterlundare you not the same person writing quirky video descriptions saying “it IS okay to be depressed”? It’s not. That’s what I was referring to and you know that. I’m not shaming you for your mental illness. If you tried to get help for yourself you wouldn’t HAVE to live with it. I’m not trying to be mean or hate I’m genuinely trying to be supportive.
