That is one clean carburetor. Interesting that the tabs were limiting the float movement. Good job of troubleshooting the issue.

I doubt this is a problem for you but I thoguht I would mention it in case it could help someone else. I had trencher with a carb similar to yours and it kept running out of fuel. I took it apart numerous times and cleaned and blew it out with air. One time I finally took out the seat and there was a flake of paint up there and it would never blow out with air but sometimes it would cover the hole in the top of the seat and prevent gas flow. Now I always remove the seat when cleaning a carb. to check for dirt up in there.

Thanks for the pointers, my 2N wasn’t getting gas, no start. Carb hadn’t been touched in 18 years. I took it apart, cleaned the cab, took it apart and used air to blow out the passageways. Reassembled and it started fast as when it was rebuilt 18 years ago. I suppose I could get a rebuild kit now.😎 The other issue I have is leaky oil pressure gauge. I have tried to carefully tighten the fittings but no matter it leaks(all over the carb side of the engine. Maybe a new gauge will have a tighter fitting gs?

Maybe check/clean the threads on the back of the oil gauge? I might be worth a try …

Good fix but if you can get your hands on an original carburetor instead of the Chinese one I’d recommend it.

Awesome. Just bought a 9n, has a leaky carb. Can I ask what fluid you use in the sonic cleaner? Also, that carry bucket is cool. Are these available for purchase anywhere.

I use straight parts cleaner, like Berryman's in the ultrasonic cleaner. After about 5 uses I drain, strain, and reuse it over and over. No, those "Ferguson Transport Boxes" are no longer being made. If you ever see one for sale, you'd better buy it. They are pretty rare, especially in good condition! Good luck with the 9N!

I think I usually set mine to about 50C which is about 122F. Seems to work well at that temp.

@@AntiqueCarsandStuff Thanks for the tip. So, I pulled and cleaned the carb and changed the spark plugs. Now she won't run with the choke in! I'm guessing something didn't quite go back right. Any ideas?
