Mate i cant thank you enough for this video. I was struggling like crazy getting the sump back onto my clevo and this video helped immensely. I was one of the dummies who was going to put the cork over the rubber end gaskets. If i have to do it again I'm pulling the motor, what a pain to do on the garage floor. Thanks again and keep it up.

Great tips! If you have excess silicone, dry finger to wipe it off. To Round Silicone, spit in your off hand, and shape it. Won't stick to your finger.

Great build, only one question. You said nit to use a high volume oil pump with a hyd roller cam, why not? Thanks
@thclevoking3 жыл бұрын
The load with 20/50 cold starts and a high volume pump combined with the reduced friction of the roller cam makes the dizzy gear and dizzy drive shaft the next weakest link.

Hey fellas i had a Yella Terra cast Rocker let go (broken in pieces on the underneath side of the rocker) im changing to to YT6015 Roller Rockers on a 2V 351 . My question is ive found the majority of the Roller rocker pieces after taking the passenger side rocker cover off. Where would have a couple of pieces ended from the underside of the rocker ?

Probably just slid down the oil return holes mate, that’s very unlucky

Hey guys, if I have a coolant leak in the front, it means timing cover needs removal and new gasket right? Also can I replace the oil pan while the engine is in the car(1971 Mustang)?
@thclevoking Жыл бұрын
It could be the water pump gasket but would most likely be the one behind the plate when people swap a water pump over they pull them down instead of up to get them free and it compromises the gasket. Oil pan can be done under the car. Sway bar needs to be removed, gearbox mount loosened, engine mount link pins removed, Jack up engine under Sump and put spacers between engine mount and base plate, then you should have enough room to get the pan off 👌

@@thclevoking I just wanted to say thanks. I have what I was sold as Aussie 2V heads but my engine builder said were marine heads. I like your channel. Cheers

Great vid. Excellent tips for doing up a critical gasket. It will be great to have these to refer to. Thanks King. No heavy duty Oil Pump drive shaft ?

I think it’s a bit over kill for this the cam won’t sea action past 6200 and it’s only a std volume oil pump

I cut the heads off 3'' bolts (like a stud) for the corners to act as guides putting the sump on - takes 10 seconds then out they come after the other bolts have been started. Just my 5 cents worth.

what were you saying about the header gaskets leaking need prper header gaskets? thanks man
@thclevoking4 жыл бұрын
The exhaust gaskets in the fel pro set only suit exhaust manifolds they don’t suit headers or extractors there is not enough meat on them to seal up properly and they burn out in no time

Is there a way to change timing cover and seal without taking off the Sump?
@thclevoking3 жыл бұрын
Lower the bolts slightly along the pan rail and when you re assemble you ditch the lower timing cover seal and pump it full of silicone. The rail gaskets will be fine if they don’t split if they do they should be changed but I have seen gaskets cut flush and sealed with silicone too.
