nice one, I had heard on forums to check dome light relay if car didn't start, now I know why. Thought it was a bit of an old wives tale. So It looks like there is chip in the key. I know this model is last one where you can just swap the ecu and dont have to do anything else, I swapped an ecu ( same ecu numbers) and it works no probs. I think au2/3 not so simple. Thanks for the info will come in useful at some stage.

Thanks for the info, The ECU is something I am yet to look at. I am told it's up behind the center dash access from driver side but I can't see it. My hazards long longer flash and have not for years when locking the car with the fob. One day I will pull it to have a look. I have a feeling the ECU is why my hazards no longer flash. Good to know I can straight swap them still. Cheers

@@TEKNOFIED there's ecu and bcm, bcm in centre, ecu left hand pillar, ecu is big computer can just swap it for same model, bcm does have security functions, never swapped that one, so not sure on that

and if u put an au1 forte motor in an au2 sr it has a mad torque dip and just outrights stalls at full throttle need to do bcm module + keybarrel + ecu at the same time in s2 and up, or j3 chip and short the starter motor to life

Hi mate how can i contact you I would like to email you my number as i have a 2000 ford au that dose not crank when you hit the key but the dash lights come on. I started it on gas through jumping the starter relay so I know everything works fine. When its running on gas the the security hand is constantly there lit up red but not flashing. Any help would be appreciated.

My brother had a problem like that with his EL. A ford mechanic told him it has something to do with a ECM in the center of the dash. We couldn't find what the mecha was talking about so I just run a wire directly from the starter motor via an added relay to the IG switch. Made it so the car could also start in gear not just P,N. but he never had a problem starting the car after the mod. With the security hand (I understand what you mean now...) always ON, have you checked for any error codes to help diagnose any problems? I don't know anything about todays LPG. Last car I had with LPG was an XD. The old gravity feed type, very simple setup.

@@TEKNOFIED I have not checked for error codes yet but will do. The reason i started it on lpg was because the system is seperate and dose not get effected from the immobiliser. Obviously the ignition switch gets effected. When i tried to jump it from relay on petrol i got spark but no fuel but when i sprayed fuel through the air box it tried to start. I think the whole problem is the immobiliser as i was looking at it to begin with because it would not run on lpg but was fine on petrol. I discovered it had been siting with flat battery for 3 months owner charged battery but when i looked at the car the terminals were loose. Maybe while car was off and I was fixing the loose terminals immobiliser came on thinking it was being stolen. Will look at it again after i clear the computer and let it reset itself.

I have a 2002 AU Ute sitting in Driveway - I start at least once a month - NOW it will not Start IGNITION on - Turn key - and Nothing - Have you a Diagram of how to Bypass as I cannot make out via Video

Im confused (no pun intended) but it looks like you jumped 30 to 85 isnt it supose to be 30 to 87 to jump for power? So bottom to top (30 to 87) not 30 to 85

Doing it this way the fans only come on with IG. You can do it 30-87 but fans will stay ON

You will want to check all fuses and relays. Swap around the high beam and low beam relay if you can't test it. Check that both bulbs are not blown. Check both earth points behind the head lights are earthed correctly. Check the 30Amp HDLP C/B (Circuit Breaker) in the fuse box under the bonnet. Take it out and put back in, Known to have a bad contact sometimes and when aged under load it opens after a short time leaving you with lights that come on and go off. Check the connections under the driver side dashboard are all good. Check the combination switch. If none of that helped then you have a broken circuit somewhere. That's I could tell you on the phone, The next part would be I need to have a look. I hope that helps. Cheers.

Hey mate, what is that 3 tone beeping? My 1999 Fairlane does that but it won't start. I replaced the BCM and had it and the computer coded to the keys but it still won't start.

I'm under 1/4 of a tank that's why you hear the 3 beeps. Annoying as hell but I guess it's for people who never look at there gauges. You need to check if you have Spark and fuel. So many things to look at but the 2 main things you need to check is! do you have spark and fuel? Try spraying Starter Fluid in the intake. If it starts you know it's a fuel problem. Try and looses the fuel injection fuel line a little and turn the key to IG but don't start. If you see fuel come out you know the pump works. Also check for water in the fuel. If no spark from one lead then check all the leads. If you see spark on some but not all then your IG pack needs replacing if no spark at all check the connections to the IG pack. Other than that you need someone to look at it with a scan tool to find out what's happening.

Hello, I have AU3 Fairlane V8 with crank no start issue. Fuel pump seems to not have power. I checked pump relay and its okay. Any advice appreciated.

Could be a faulty pump. With the Ignition ON hit the top of the pump a few times until you hear it pumping. Happened to me in an EL Falcon some while ago. Hitting the pump worked for a bout 6 weeks before needing to replace it. Cheers.
