Thanks so much! Right rear door did this one morning. Heard wind noise as I was driving. Got out and realized the window was outside of the rubber door gasket. Went to the dealer and they apparently didn’t know this quick fix. They scheduled me for an appointment for Friday. Saw your video which fixed the problem! Was able to cancel.

Thanks for the video. Called the dealership this afternoon and they offered a slightly different solution. Turn on ignition, roll window down, then press down three times. Then reverse (roll up, then up three times). Neither of these solutions worked for me. However, a combination of your solution followed by my dealer's solution did work! Who knows? Throw a Hail Mary in there for good measure. Couldn't hurt. My window works now. Yay!

Great tip! Have you had any issues with your windows not automatically rolling all the way up? Mine have been doing that. The fronts specifically. If all 4 are down, I hit the switches for the back two, then the switches for the front two, to let them auto roll up. But sometimes the front will stop in half positions. Once the front passenger stopped twice on its way to fully rolled up.

Yes, something similar has happened, if you do the same cycle through as I did in this, it should fix the problem

Seems like a lot of people have been having issues with the windows rolling down. So many cars do this now that are frameless doors so I really hope maybe they can do some kind of firmware update to make them lower a bit faster when opening the door. I'm sure the snags while opening will not help in the longevity of them.

@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I know the first time it happened to me was after taking the doors off, and I just unplugged the door's wiring a few times and it seemed to have sorted itself out. It just happened at random with a different door though, and this trick fixed it no problem. @ Jason Miller, As to the slight lag in window response when opening the doors, I've taken to using one hand to pull the door handle while holding the door closed with my other hand. The window drops before the door actually moves. haha, one would THINK that after designing and assembling vehicles for 120 years they'd have doors and windows pretty much figured out by now, but here we are.

Haha that happened to me today and I discovered it because I had just washed my car and found that some water got inside. Thankfully, I was pointing the high pressure sprayer from front to back most of the time so only a little water was on my passenger seat. Going to try your reset trick, thanks.

The mannequin Bronco at my dealership had this problem. I noticed the front passenger driver door was not going up all the way. I told the sales person about it and they werent aware of how to fix it. I will send this on to them.

Thanks for the heads up. I want to bring to attention that this system has been around a long time. My 2007 Shelby Mustang has the same tech you open the door the window drops down a crack and same when you close it. I’ve never had an issue with it hopefully the Bronco’s are ok like my Mustang

Quick question . When you open the bronco is it supposed to go down a bit. I notice when I open mine it doesn't look like it goes down a bit and when I open it the glass shakes a bit just like yours did in the video . Is it supposed to do that ? When I close it , it goes slightly up for a tight fit when I open it , it always shakes a bit on top. Is this normal ?

It should open a little for opening and then go back up after closing. I would say a little shaking is normal due to it being a frameless door, but without seeing it, I can’t tell you for sure. Hope that helps!

It shouldn't break the glass. That glass is a lot stronger than that. Appreciate the tutorial for how to relearn it though. Once my Badlands shows up i'll keep it in mind. I'm really curious how well this system is going to work in places with cold temps and snow and ice like here in my state of MN. Very often we get ice that prevents our windows from rolling down until the truck is good and warmed up or stored inside because the glass and seal on the door freeze together...

I tried it and initially it did not work. Read the comment on another video about the issue and they called Ford and they told them to do it 3x consecutively, and it worked. I tired it myself and it did indeed work. So if you have encountered this fix not working the first time do it 3x consecutively it should sort you out. Cheers🎉

Honestly how much testing and research went into this by Ford. As a person who work as an inspector in quality, this Bronco is starting to really trouble me. They had a lot of time to get this right and it seems to me they rushed it out the door and for a lot of money.

They've had these auto dipping windows since at least the 2005 Mustang came out - It was a periodic issue with them too but it wasn't that common.

You actually have to do it twice. Direct from the Bronco manual: Start with closed window. Press and hold the window control switch until the window is fully open. Keep the window control switch pressed for two seconds. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed. Keep the window control switch held for two seconds. Press and hold the window control switch until the window is fully open. Keep the window control switch pressed for a two seconds. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed. Keep the window control switch held for a two seconds.
