At the level of disassemble the truck is at right now, I think it’s gonna be hard for it to not be show truck quality by the time you’re done. You’re reaching all the nooks and crannies nobody else ever can. A little coat of paint goes a long way. As you know.

That crankshaft in Mr beefy was finished At the company I worked for at the time from 94- 99 Norton manufacturing Fostoria Ohio It was done in the route 12 plant Now owned by a Japanese company I was stockroom attendant on afternoon shift most of my time there For a short while I hauled crankshafts in my personal pickup truck back and forth between two facilities in Fostoria for QC purposes cast cranks like yours 50# V-10 viper is steel 70# Foot deep drawer full of pilot bearings just for viper And those weird thrust bearings were in stock because one of the processes used them All part of the million plus dollar inventory That was in my stockroom I really enjoy your channel My dad was a driver for 30 years or more Drove a lot of trucks including a Ford about the same as the chapel truck Twin screw drive I couldn't drive truck because of my disability cerebral palsy but didn't keep me from being able to help work on them or ride along Dad owned a 75 kw cab over then later mid 80s IH long nose 3 at a time plus a cab over Once those were sold he had a 90s IH long nose till he retired Keep going And yeah that passenger side power window thing was weird but that's how it wasn't his truck too

Broke only one screw taking apart that corroded door and window regulator? That is quite impressive. That's not water inside the headlight, it's headlight oil. Yeah, headlight oil makes them burn brighter. You don't see it much anymore because the oil was extracted from the gizzard of the dodo bird. It's really rare stuff. 😁

The step deck isn't new. Steve's had it since before he started the channel. It's just gotten so bad frame wise that he benched it until now.

those 10cyls from my experience have been a really nice balanced engine, surprising to see the crosshatching in there, its amazing with the mileage, prolly a cleanup hone pass and its done. awesome :)

There is a reason V-10 engines are not commonly used and that is due to the design suffering from inherent imbalance.

I wish Chrysler had just made it a V-12. Then they would have had an inherently balanced engine that would have made even more torque. If they can get an inline-6 Cummins in there, they could have just as easily put in a V-12. Even in the Viper, a V-12 would have been an inherently better engine. More power and better efficiency in a V-12.

Myself i'd finish the trailer first then have all the room you need to lay chassis out and maybe make a jig to hold axles,rails,ends and other bits square to where go.

Dodge and chevy engines are bad about the lifters failing and chewing off lobes on the cam. The engine idle time plays a roll because the engines arent well lubricated and after time the lifters fail first. if you replace the lifters when the noise is first noticed you can save the cams. but most dont know or notice until its to late and the engine runs bad

Steve was it cheaper to have them made or buy the rails and drill yourself. Berry trucking got rails and drilled for a green truck. Just wondering.

Time is money. It saves him the aggravation of doing it, possibly screwing up and by having them make the frame from his template will make it easier when he gets the replacement frame for the 352.
