Thanks for the video. Now that I see what is involved, I'll go ahead and let the Ford dealer do it for free under factory recall. Mine works fine as long as the weather is cold. If the weather is above around 50 degree, the headlights won't go on. lol Video is very informative!

Ford techs don't work on circuit boards. The recall adds an extra module with relays. if your LCM is bad then you gotta find one or find someone to fix it for you.

I did change all four relays with omron brand. Its not fun to suddenly get the headlighet turned off in the deep darkness. I had du replace for both headlight.

Going to attempt to fix mine this week ! Only one headlight with mine is out and only one side marker kinda stays on . If I can’t fix it , may call me local Ford dealer since they extended it for 15 years from 2015

My LCM is going bad again after Ford "fixed" it. My markers and taillights will just all of a sudden go out but my headlights would stay on. I would have the slap the bottom of my cover just for it to come on.

your markers go out? what did you mean BLINKERS? what is that 'markers'? THE RELAY FOR YOUR TAIL LIGHTS IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE RELAY THAT WORKS THE HEADLIGHTS (ALONG WITH THE BLINKERS, HAZARDS...) SO THEY WORK BUT THE ITS THE RELAY TO THE RIGHT OF THAT ONE SEE the comment above saying so..

Thank you for the video. we replaced that relay and so far it is working. The one part of the job that is a total nightmare is pulling out the top plug in. What was that engineering thinking. The engineer must have had a lobotomy.

did the same but for my tail lights also the one to the right of yours is the tail light relay be careful of doing the headlight relay because there are two tiny resistors that might come off if heated to much if so might be imposable to try to place it back if not buying a new one.

The LCM in my 01 grand marquis looks just like yours in the video, however the pins on the relay are layed out a little different. I've ordered the wrong ones 🙃

Is there a trick to unplugging the big white connector from the back of the LCM? I tried and failed.... Please help.

@Ψευδάνωρ yes.... I went back to it and I was finally successful in getting it out. I invented a way to help me get it out. I made a wire hook and used it to depress the connector's tab to free my hand to wiggle and pull the connector out.

Would a bad lcm effect the tail lamps also? My grand marquis all the lights on the back randomly shut off and I've checked all the fuses with no luck

I am not sure the other relays. Possible. Be sure to check the ground for the tail lights.

lord yes.. there are 4 relays and between them they have to run all the lights in groups@@KentDiego

I removed my lcm and took apart and everything looked in mint condition. How do i know which relay is bad ?

My relay and board looked perfect but the relay was bad. I did not bother to test the resistance across contacts should indicate a problem.

If the relays are only ten bucks I probably would have replaced them all while I was in there. Obviously the headlights are going to be drawing the most power so that's the most likely related to fail...... Still seems prudent though

@@KentDiego naw not yet. Really don’t feel like coming up out of $420. The last two days it went out after cutting the car off and had to wait about 5 minutes before it came back on. It’s not bad yet.
