I grew up in Detroit. I’m not gonna make a big speech about it. I worked for the Ford family when I was 16, in Grosse Pointe Farms. Everything they’ve ever built they kept to original condition, guaranteed if you go to the house at 300 Provencal Dr., it’s in the same condition It was the day they walked in it after they got a certificate of occupancy. It was great back in the 70s working for them. Times were different, better, and so beautiful there. After watching how hard the family works, that’s where I basically got my work ethic. They have great values. I have met only a few people in my adult life that could somewhat match the quality of the Ford family. IT’S BEAUTIFUL TO SEE THAT THE FAMILY STILL LIVES UP TO ITS VALUES 50 Years later! Great Job Mr. Ford!

Unfortunately most the vehicles are bland, however that goes for all auto companies. Back then 50+ years ago you could tell a Ford from a Chrysler to a Chevy

GM could've restored this building but they made it perfectly clear they're not a retro company. They can take a walk, right on Ford for saving my favourite building in Detroit

gm spent $1 billion overall through the years renovating the renaissance center and renovating the riverfront space before it was even a huge public space like it is today

@@robertw0136 The Ren Cen isn't even an old building it was built in the 80s if my memory serves me. Just look at their automobiles nothing is retro that Camaro looks nothing like the original. Ford and Chrysler made retro cars and sold them like hotcakes. Ford needs to change the Mustang it's not attractive like the 05-09s were and the sales prove it. No GM suks, they barely even sell their cars in Europe ever been to Germany and seen a Chevy?? I see Ford's everywhere in Europe, Germany, Poland, Spain, I seldom see Chevys lol

@@m42037fifth gen camaro sold more than the mustang and challenger. gm owned opel and saab in europe. just like how they owned holden in australia. gm was always bigger and better than ford/chrysler

@@markwilson1096 Keep talking pal you've never been over the pond. Go to Europe and look for a Chevy, Ford's are everywhere in Europe I'm over there a lot. That Camaro is bland, the only thing they sell cool is the Vette looks wise but it'll set you back almost six figures. The 05-09 Mustangs sold 10× anything GM sold in the last 15 years weisenheimer

Help America, help Detroit, help Michigan, buy a Ford. GM has been talking about leaving for years, specifically going to Texas. This beautiful building will bring out the best talent. The environment alone will have a positive psychological impact.

Michigan Central Station looks amazing, but unfortunately we have moved from a state government that was hostile to urban renewal to one that is merely neutral on it. Until it is unlawful to turn farmland into Mcmansions, the suburbs will dominate, and the rot in this state's core cities will continue.
@rafasgarally39755 ай бұрын
I acknowledge your statement, but this shows, that Ford really cares about Detroit and is trying to show what is possible. You already can see how the people of Detroit, shows thier support and has gravitated towards this sector of the city. Remember, Ford was at the Renaissance center first, GM thought it was a good idea to follow and is now leaving. Maybe, Ford knew of the limitations and GM just figured it out. We may never know of the real decisions that was made for leaving. These are really BIG corporations and not a LAW firm, that is doing business. Only time will tell if these new decisions to move into renovated older buildings or once and for all, build new specified in the suburbs like Chrysler did or (Mercedes, Fiat,FCA)😂

Hopefully some of the startups are working on a way to create more affordable mass deployment of public chargers. This is totally a “field of dreams” situation (if you guide it, they will come). Yes, people will always want more range, but right now peoples’ reluctance seems to be coming more from the fact that EV infrastructure is limited, and what is there, is often broken or functioning poorly. At the same time, all OEMs need to find a way to make BEVs as affordable as a similar ICE model. I’m sure that will ghapoen eventually, but the sooner these problems get tackled, the better for the industry.
