@@polizzi82 when I first was looking about a week again (before this was uploaded) it was always how to replace the entire thing. Unless I was searching the wrong words i don’t know lol. But thank you for this video. Scariest part for me will be popping the mirror off.

The hardest part was the part he did not show. Unclipping the clips holding the glass mirror to the housing. There are 4 corners with 2 clips on each side. You are going to want a firm prying tool or a small point flathead to fit inside the mirror housing. You will want to do one two clips at one time while pulling at the same time. once you freed 2 of them move to the next corner and do the same. Keep constant pressure to make sure the clips do not go back while you have moved onto the next corners. once you get 2 corners and 1 clips done from the 3rd it should start freeing up on it's own. It is easy after that part. I just installed sequence signals on my 2012 ford explorer smoked out. And the final product is damn worth the effort. Be carful prying the clips they are fairly weak and you can snap them pulling them back you only need enough force to move it that 2/16th of and inch to free it.

I have to do this on the passenger side of my wife’s new to her 2017. Thanks for sharing this!! It’ll be easy. Have you ever had to replace the little rear clips that hold the panels together? That’s next in my list.

My passenger mirror light is broken on my 2016 and I’m also pretty sure the plastic on the back is broken is there a way to replace the back mirror trim under the back cap?

Your video is really good but you missed explaining carefully where these clips are exactly. You should have illustrated the dismantle showing how to remove the clips. If they break then the whole mirror is rendered useless.

Even if you were a skilled electrical tech and had access to free LEDs, the plastic housing is sealed. The whole fixture is pretty inexpensive and took all of 10 mins to swap out.
