The dealership is replacing my engine because of the intermix. 2014 Mazda CX9 3.7. $14,000

Same crappy design on all Ford 3.5 and 3.7 V6’s. I have a 2013 Ford Edge and haven’t had a failure but I change oil every 5000 miles and change the coolant every 3 years or 36,000 miles. I am so paranoid about this problem I check the oil and coolant before I drive this car(every day).

Good job

I changed the oil and coolant just like you did. I stayed on top of it. And then one day out of nowhere the engine oil and coolant mixed and over capacitated the block. I only discovered this after engine shut down. No check engine light, no over heat, it just died like a dead battery/bad alternator. Check battery voltage at 12.8. pulled the dipstick and it was at the top. Milky. That Duratec engine is garbage at 89k miles. Dealer is replacing it for $14,000.

I hope the engine was out for some other reason. It's certainly not necessary for this job.

Lots of work for a water pump.

I just pulled my water pump from a Ford Explorer, why does the pump have gasket sealant applied over the rubber gasket? Mind you this was bought new not used and first time changed at 166,769 miles.

C L S all in one - dude breaks it down on how to do it yourself. I’m like 70% of the way, just waiting on new VVT solenoids, O2 sensors, radiator hoses and alternator to come in and replace at 166k plus miles, new from 2017.

Very understandable. To the point.
