The sound of the gen3 are so awesome and they get a lot of hate because there not a v8 but I’m loving my gen3 the exhaust is sweet sounding in my opinion. Great video

Awesome videos. I have one question about this video do all the Raptors have Toreson front differential? I know it’s been a couple years lol thanks
@gearzgadgets58726 ай бұрын
The Torsen front diff is optional on the lower trims, so they don't all have it.

Do you notice in deep snow the extra width of the raptor not tracking well when trying to drive in the tracks left by normal width suv's or pickups? In other words, is that a situation where the raptor would not do as well, because it is 3-4" wider on either side than the tracks and as a result is always/often partly in the deeper snow rather than the tracks?
@gearzgadgets5872 Жыл бұрын
It is a bit wider than a fair amount of vehicles, but I have not noticed it as being hindrance on the trucks off road capabilities. I've only noticed the width to be a problem on really tight trails with trees to maneuver between. I have not run into trouble with the track width being wider than the ruts/tracks in the trail. But, that is another good reason to stay with factory or close to factory offset wheels.

In that particular type of snow. What 4x4 setting should I set my Gen 2 2018 Raptor on? 4 High? 4 Low?
@gearzgadgets58722 жыл бұрын
Mainly 4HI for this type of driving in the snow. The only time I went to 4LO that day was for climbing the hill near the end of the video.

@@gearzgadgets5872 oh wow! You actually replied! Holy moly! Wow thank you for that! I so much appreciate it greatly! This truck has been my dream vehicle ever since created especially when the Gen 2’s came out. I busted my arse, blood, sweat and tears and save up and finally was able to purchase it whole $94,000.00. I now OWN it. It is mine and I am absolutely in love with it and will never go to another truck again. Thank you for the reply. It’s my first time even owning a 4x4 or a truck for that matter so I am oblivious to the off road world. Thanks again and God bless 👊🏽🤙🏽🖖🏽

so what modes were you in most the time here for driving and exhaust and steering? sorry if i missed it in the Vid
@samuelrancoud17162 жыл бұрын
also how is the engine withoverheating.. is there and RPM you shouldnt go over or stay over for too long when in baja or deep snow mode for example? My gen 2 engine does not seem to like being in those modes too long
@gearzgadgets58722 жыл бұрын
I used off-road mode for most of the driving that day - 4HI, comfort steering, off-road suspension, sport exhaust, rear diff locked. However, once in off-road mode, I switched the exhaust to baja, and unlocked the diff at times for sharper turning on the trails. I also use baja mode a few times when I wanted 2wd as that is not available in off-road drive mode.

@@samuelrancoud1716 I did not have any trouble with temps and was running it pretty hard for several hours. Coolant temp was 200-215F while oil temp and trans temp stayed around 185-205F. There were plenty of gen 2 trucks out there as well, and I didn't hear anyone have temp troubles. But, it was pretty cold out that day. 5-10F ambient temp.
