My 2019 5.7 hemi Ram 1500 Bighorn has a payload capacity of 1650 lbs with a 3.92 gear ratio, and can also tow 10,400 lbs. I wouldn't personally tow that much with my half ton though. My dads 2021 limited has a payload of 1270 lbs with an 8700 lb towing capacity. So it really comes down to which trim and gear ratio you have on your truck.

Why wasn't the all aluminum body's that Ford uses mentioned?? That's a biggie for me , I've owned Chevy's and Dodge trucks through the years and my biggest and most expensive repairs are that the bodies of these truck's do NOT withstand the corrosive materials that are used in the northeast on the roads in the winter time. I guarantee that within 6-7 year time frame, you will have fenders or tailgates starting to rust through. Ford's aluminum bodies are the definitely the best of the three and that ultimately was a game changer for me..

@sonsofliberty30813 жыл бұрын
I like 18s, my ram came with 20s and it still rides good, but 18s ride better. I had a Dakota for about 20yrs and it had 31in 10.5W with 16in rims from the factory with. 5sp. 20yrs and only a water pump and normal items in the suspension and breaks. 300k miles and still ran good, oh and a distributor cap around 250k. It cracked somehow and the only reason I knew it is because I went through the car wash. Still got it to crank up and go home. I run the hell out of that thing. Had 3klbs of stone it, towed 9k lbs a few times and towed 5 a lot. Took it in the woods and pulled out logs and trees for fire wood, stacked wood and coal like crazy in it. Just kept going. I needed a bigger truck for horses and more hay so sold it to a 19yr old kid that is still running it for 500 bucks.

I think this is one of your best vids to date. I like how you point out the history of the tailgate features. It also seems like you and your dad know what's really important as truck owners who actually use trucks. Tfl doesn't have that other than when Mr truck weighs in. The one thing I can't stand they do is show the depth of the truck bed and not being able to reach the bottom when reaching over the side as a negative. In my opinion the deeper the better, especially if your securing items under a tannoue cover. Great job keep it up.

First of all...GREAT review by you both. Honest and straight forward. Thank you! I've been a GM truck fan for years..having a 1999.5, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2013 and a 2017. Throw in a 2016 F-150 platinum that I bought new. When GM ended its 3rd generation truck..the problems started mounting with faulty transmissions, electrical problems and a rough ride. My 2013 GMC Sierra was the best by far compared to the competition at that time. The F-150 was plagued by numerous recalls..and I just didnt have the time or energy to constantly bring it in for all these issues. The straw that broke the camel's back was the Adaptive Cruise feature. The sensors in the bumper would catch refections from box trucks, overhead regulatory signs..and the brakes would just SLAM on. Great feeling when you are in highway traffic and the ABS activates and the truck comes to a total stop. The dealer wouldnt fix unless they could duplicate. That would be a pretty dangerous diagnosis if the tech had to duplicate what happened to me. Just 2 or 3 months ago...I found a gently used 2019 Ram Rebel with only 20K miles. The exterior and interior styling just spoke to me. When I test drove it..the comfort was FAR superior to any GM or Ford I've EVER driven. The interior was absolutely stunning. I've always had higher trim levels in the GMCs. The Platinum interior was beautiful and had TONS of features...but most of the time...you don't USE those features, once they are set. The Rebel has everything I need...looks GREAT...and in my older years...most of all...I LOVE the comfort. I've never liked the Ram product in the past, but when the new design hit...the Ram got me excited. So far...I LOVE it!

As far as the top towing number on the F150. The 14000 is on a 4 door long box 4x2 pickup. 13900 is on the 4 door short box 4x4 and 13800 is on the 4 door long box.
