My first set of wheels was a '73 F-100 Custom. Man this takes me back. Fantastic job. A few years ago my first girlfriend DM'd me a picture of one identical to mine, 1000 miles away and 20 years later haha. I guess guys aren't the only ones who never forget their first truck. Congratulations!

Yes it is not cheap, the engine being the most expensive, those 360-390 engine parts are really expensive! I started by cleaning the frame and so I thought "I better do it right!", and then everything had to follow, it is an addiction I think. But it took time 3-4 years. Good luck with yours 😉

Awesome truck, I did a resto on a 73 F250 Highboy and went with the 428 FE 4speed, they have TONS of torque. @ 15:20 you have a spark from a wire to the oil filler cap. I went with black as well, but my paint is now 20 years old.
@lesagecustoms46684 жыл бұрын
Hi Karl, thanks for the nice comment. Wow you have the vision of an eagle!!! I saw the spark now thatvyou told me!!! 428, I wish I had the budget, but 395 is already a lot of fun. Not a fan of the rag join for steering, it does not feel tight, I believe the highboy 4x4 didn't have a rag joint.
@karljay74734 жыл бұрын
@@lesagecustoms4668 I got lucky with the 428, a local shop had a few and I snagged one. Got some 67 GT heads from another local shop. I was running the Predator carb, Crower cam, headers and she had so much torque it was damn hard to drive. I swapped over to a Speed Demon carb, but still have to really feather the clutch because of all the torque.

This is some incredible work it looks like it is took a while, I just have a small question were you able to add a steering box to make the power steering easier on the truck at all?
@MrMariow014 жыл бұрын
You can swap the steering box , they fit the same but need to add the power steering pump, and replace the crankshaft pulley to ad the v belt, I did it on my 77 also swapped the the steering column with a tilt column, good luck on your project .
