Ford F750 Dump Truck "Orville" Gets a new Home Quarry

Today our Ford F750 Dump Truck nicknamed Orville gets his new decals and makes the trip to his new home quarry for the first time. We are officially starting the next chapter for Orville as we pay tribute to his beginnings and look forward to many productive years here in the Valley.

I was just asking about this truck on Todd’s channel. Glad to see it is still going strong. Thinking about building one with the 7.3 gas motor for a roll off truck. Best option I can find for under $100k that can handle some decent weight.

We use a lot of #2s for base and #crusher run .... i think you guys call it "road bond" ...... quarry for us is over a hour an half away in another state .... we have a trucking company bring it in tri-axles as needed .... its nice to see how others operate in other states ..... great video !

we are in "crusher run" country here too. Although it has different grades depending on where you go 1-1/2 minus, 3/4 minus and even 5/8 minus. I have a triaxle guy bring stuff too periodically. Can you add a lift axle to haul more?

no, the GVWR of the truck is determined at the time the truck is manufactured. I guess you could technically take it to an "approved" outfitter who could make the modifications and re-rate the GVWR, but that seems like an insane amount of trouble for something that might only up your capacity by a few tons. And honestly, I run about a ton under max most of the time because at full weight, material is heaped up too much to suit my liking. I believe you'd be better off just getting a tandem axle truck and getting that capacity up to 12-15 tons that way

usually about 8 tons on that truck will put us around 31k gross or a bit more

The truck's GVWR is 33,000 and it is about 15,000 empty. Max legal payload is about 18,000 lbs / 9 tons give or take. Thanks for watching :) @@J.Antonio758
