Ford Falcon FGX XR8 | The Last Aussie Boss | 4K

Tim's love of Ford's is deep-seated. They have been a part of his life since he could remember. Growing up with the 'Blue Oval' meant Tim needed to own a Ford, there was no other car for him.
Seeing the FGX XR8, and knowing it would be the last Aussie built V8 Ford would offer, Tim immediately put his name down to order one, using the car on his wedding day alongside an XY GT to make it really special.
"The FGX is definitely the best car that I've ever owned. Amazing interior; it looks so tough with the power bulge on the bonnet, the front grille is really mean, the DRLs look amazing coming down the road. Very comfortable, very powerful. 5L, supercharged, 335kW. Had to get the manual, it's the only thing you have to do when you get a car like this - it has to be a manual."
"It's just my pride and joy. Sits in the garage and comes out during the weekend, goes for a spin, gets washed, and goes back into the garage for the week."

G'day....Just a beautiful car , nice video on what it's like to own a fitting tribute to an Aussie icon...Enjoy it for as long as you choose...Congrats......I bought a pretty nice FG Mk1..XR6 recently and I get a kick out of driving it too..It's a non turbo but with the ZF 6 speed which is a fantastic trannie and works beaut with the terrific 4.0 litre engine...Just great to drive..Cheers Rod..

It's a shame the ZF6spd is a dinosaur now, but still one of the best, if not the best automatic transmission available in an Aussie built car.

G'day ,Okay David ...fair enough..not impressed by an FGX is your choice..I respect that..Your call....At least I know you drove one...I love my FG and my old AU ..The main reason is reliability proven time and time again and (my call) I don't get inspired be Korean cars. never have before and unlikely to do so in the future ..Never ,ever had any real issues with five different Falcons over 38 years of driving..so I like them and defend them..You and I will have to disagree on that but I appreciate your response and pleased you at least tested a late model Falcon...Cheers Rod

David...I like my Falcons..I've had an XB , XE , EF , AU (still got her ) , BA Fairmont , and now my FG XR6..which I absolutely love.. Never yet had a V8 . I rate the six cylinder bulletproof engines really highly I also have the 6 speed ZF transmission in the XR6 LOVE IT also the classy surefooted ride , the handling , as new condition (one owner from new) and I had a chance to buy it at a price I could afford..I had one Commodore , way back..a VC , and the engine went bang at 118,000 kms...scared me off ever since. although I realise the late model Commies are pretty darn good .I had TX5 Telstar , a Morris 1100 , Two Ford Escorts (great little cars) , and a Mitsubishi station wagon...Never had a Subaru ..but my best mate has had three or four Forester's and swears by them..Glad you gave an XR8 a try..and if it didn't grab you then so be it Your call ..one day maybe I will try one too..Who knows ?..No more insults from me..just a different opinion...Rod..

Same here we have an fgx XR8 in black but unfortunately its an auto but it still goes like a bullet, I'm glad that some people out there still like some Aussie V8 supercharged grunt, WHAT A CAR!!
