My BA GT has the same issue, after watching this, I'll live with no heater, it's a weekend driver as it is! I'll use a blankie to keep warm.

I did the leaking heater core years ago on my Falcon. It looked just as messy. A good fun or nightmare depends on whether you have a good mood working on it.

If you just want a rough fix isn;t there a way you could just drill a hole somewhere and open the flap with a wire or something? I dont care if I cut away stuff, I just want to open the flap for some heat.

an absolute pig of a job, i have had a few him failures on my falcons over the years. i dont even bother replacing too much hassle. You have it down to a art though
@shenghan93855 жыл бұрын
One thing I do want to complain about that pig Falcon is that none of the manifold parts were debered. Alll the edges are kinfe sharp. It's a mechanic's nightmare.

Hi there. Good video, thanks for taking the time to make it. I have an AUIII Fairmont that recently had an E2 error message on the climate control screen and now won't provide either warm or cold air. My mechanic has indicated it's the blend door not operating correctly (and reading through some of the forums an E2 error message is indicating the motor itself may be the culprit). The effort and cost involved to rectify it is probably beyond the economic life/viability of the vehicle. As we're just heading into winter it's unfortunate because the rest of the vehicle is otherwise reasonably sound. Do you know if there is a way (without the extreme surgery of taking the whole dash out) I could get the blend door adjusted so I'm at least getting warm air in?

This is enough for me never to ever buy a Friggin Ford again, To have to do this to fix the car heater is an absolute joke, Ford should be held responsible for this, using a pissy little plastic part that can break at any time, they should have had a recall and replaced them all with a new one... disgraceful...

Do you think its only ford that has this issue? Lol wait until you get a Volvo for example 😂😂😂😂😂

Hey there, question here. On my fg falcon there is only cold and warm air coming out. When changing temp the airmix shaft does not rotate. I removed the HIM and tried to see if it works without the shaft, and no, it does not. I thought it was the DC motor inside the HIM so I swapped it with the recirculation one and put it back together, and the motor does work. What I noticed is if I unplug DC from the HIM, then plug it back in and switch ignition on, the motor for airmix works as a pre-check up done by the ICC, but that's it. It does not work anymore with the temp change on the ICC. Is it a faulty HIM?

Please tell me this isn't the case to replace a small plastic part? I just watched another vid that said to just remove the glovebox and side panel from the front of the passenger side centre console.

I had my feet on passenger headrest today and my head in the footwell so I could see the HIM. My hot works just fine, and my aircon lines freeze up in engine bay...I can hear the HIM moving to change direction when I press the buttons, but I have zero blower..If I have to pull the whole dash out ....I wont. Stuff that..lol
@MrBrooxy Жыл бұрын
Don't need to take out the whole dash atleast in an fg all you Doo is take out the glove box and backing and the side kick panel and the him is there. It's 3 bolts and the him comes off and you can get to the shaft no problem takes about 20 minutes 👊 literally not weekends 15 screws boys

Hi, could you please tell me how the middle console comes out, I got all the screws off and there seems to be clips holding it in at the front of the center console. As the plastic is a but brittle I am scared to yank on it just the wrong way, dies it pull out or does it pull towards the door? I'm going to pick a part soon to have a look on their car but I'm good with everything else and just thought I'd ask, maybe you can save me a trip. Btw have you seen the new middle console but for these cars, it has a touch screen for reverse camera, climate control and everything. It's 1300 but it will make your car look like a new model.
@DadSkool5 жыл бұрын
thanks for the reply, there are no videos showing how. I know the screws your are talking about and have removed them. So are you saying you then push the console down? It seems to be stuck at the bottom on the side but i cant see what it is. I am sure its a clip but the question is, which way to push or pull. I have got the dash all out except the main part, 2 nuts on the centre consloe either side at the back by the seats, all the small screw around the top, back part with cigarette lighter is off along with the flap/arm rest. Once i work out this bit, ill be ok. If you are not sure what im saying, thats ok, ill go to pick-a part and have a look, better to break theirs than mine, i need the top bit anyway by the spring on the door is broken, along with the opening hinge thingy. I have actualy put it all back together again for now, it only took 30 mins, and wont take long to get it all back off now. On monday i will buy the rod and i will go to pick a part tomorrow to take theirs apart. I can see the rod is broken through the back of the glove box. check this out, when im done, i think i will get one, link in a reply jic it goes for review. When i know what i am doing, i will def make a video showing exactly how to do it if anyones interested, it will be up in about a month when its all done and edited

My FG looks just like this. No difference really. This is a great video - shame there are no pictures of the fix... did you get an error code on the tester? Mine was B1 266 Servo Motor Air intake Left Circuit Failure I pulled the dash off but didn't look inside the HIM unit. Kicking myself now as I had to put the dash back together without the problem fixed. Thought it was a shaft so bought a shaft in readiness but the dam shaft was fine. I now have to pull the dash off again and pull apart the HIM unit dam it... Or go to pick a part and pull out a secondhand one for $68 and then put it in... Sooooo much work for such a small fault... PS when I put the whole thing back together the boot would not open. much cursing later and found that under the passenger side foot well left hand cover. There is a grey and orange wiring loom. The loom was connected but the leaver clip was not put back into the lock position. Insert swear word. Also spoke to a friend of mine who is a mechanic. The error code for this problem if anyone is interested is B1 266 Servo Motor Air intake Left Circuit Failure Also not mentioned anywhere else and qudos to you is the 5/32 50 mm allan key on the dash. I used a 5/32 straight driver bit and a over sized 7mm spanner on the shaft. Saved a heap of time. There is also a great step by step walk through that you can tick off on the ford forums. You have to join and it fits in perfectly with this video. A match made in heaven. fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11232922&highlight=dashboard+removal
