As the owner of a 1:1 '79 F-150 Ranger Lariat (sorry that's a mouthful) I am so glad to see this. Called my local hobby shop and ordered on as soon as I heard. I'm going to need that pushbar and probably the light kit as well. My truck is rosegold (Vaquero) and brown so the brown one is perfect. Great review as always Matt! Keep up the great work.

This generation of trucks ran from '73-'79. Came in all sorts of trim packages including the Ranger, custom, and camper special. The Ranger is has always been and will always be my absolute favorite truck ever made or will ever be made.

I bought a 79 when they came out new had white spoke wheels from the factory it came with the BF Goodrich all-terrain tires 30- 1050 by 15. brush guard was like this only black not chrome . Roll bar was similar but only had one pipe going up not too like this . two Chrome KC lights on top not four . I put a lift kit under it but not quite this much only about 4 in to keep it looking good and still be able to drive it at interstate speed without any problem. This will go good with my Bronco and my blazer I really don't like that brown color we stay had a been a little more realistic with paint mine was silver and black

One thing I can say about Traxxas is that they do a great job with bodies. Other than the blacked out stickers, this body looks amazing! I am not a fan of the lifted trucks so I may try to pick up the body whenever that becomes possible and see what I can do with it!

There are actually 3 colors, a limited number of gloss black body's were given to vendors so if you go in and buy one when they full release, instead of ordering it online you can get that one

So glad I waited to pull the trigger on the high trail. I didn't like the chrome stickers as trim for the body. Doesn't seem like it would hold up very good. So I passed. Also I'm looking forward to adapting that body mounting to the Bronco. Should only require shortening it since the body is pretty much identical.

@@stevemiller7980 I just watched another video of it. They showed the body mount up close. Looks like damn near a direct swap. Doors forward should be identical. The bed section is short so I'm guessing very little mod if any. It's not one piece cage like the 2021 Bronco and it looks like it uses the chrome molding mounts to attach it.

I just ordered mine in the blue color, just waiting for it to come in. I own and drive a 2008 chevy 1500 silverado ltz and love it, but I don't hate ford's or other cars besides cadalac and BMW. They are rough to work on. For everyone that say one brand is better than the other, every brand has its own problem. It just depends on what yall feel like fighting with, I know cuz I work on cars for a living.

The only bad thing about this new truck is that Chrome piece that goes down the center of the body when they formed the Lexan they made it a little too thin cause the Ford Bronco brakes right there.

I think its really cool, nicer than the Tamiya F350 from a few years ago(good looks but not great crawler). The Traxxas Mechanix are excellent. I think another winner. I too would like to see the more stock look, although the 2.2 are nicely proportioned.

Man, what a GORGEOUS truck! The funky tune in the edit was perfect! Both the wheels and body, especially in that blue, completely sold it to me! And I'm definitely not a Traxxas fan! To be fair, I'm just sick of everyone owning a Defender in my area, nothing wrong with the chassis... although I'd love it much more if the axles were straight, and the casings looked more scale! I'd get straight end side casings for it, and call it done!

I was pretty much ready to pull the trigger on a trx4 defender and then discovered the Absima Sherpa at the last second. Apart from the price difference, the whole "stickers for windows" thing really counted heavily against the Traxxas for me and has lost them a sale.
