My friend owns one of these and I'm amazed by it. The difference in noise, refinement and torque between the Ecoboost engine and my 1.0, 3-pot Aygo is night and day. It really does feel like a much bigger, more powerful engine. My only gripe is the note, though-there's something very satisfying about my Aygo's (almost V6-like) roar. But when it dies, or I need something a little bigger, the Fiesta will be top of my list for sure.

yes very good engine but main complaint is that they will not achieve the stated fuel economy, or anywhere near

@@maxmorris4562 I didn't in the end. I somehow ended up with a diesel Clio! How things change. I did look at Fiestas, but they didn't offer much for my budget. I still would have one, but having owned the Clio I'd probably now go for the 1.5 TDCi if I needed another diesel, but more likely the 82ps 1.25 if MPG wasn't such an issue. The turbo is a novelty if you're used to a N/A car, but that begins to wear off when you have to live with the lag, noise and constant fear of it failing. I've grown to appreciate mechanical simplicity I think

Thanks Callum, i guess if you take into account the fuel economy, low insurance costs, zero road tax and low finance rates and future high residual values for these cars as well as the huge saving on new price, it could be worth getting a pcp or a 60 month agreement and spreading the cost of your first car motoring

I have a 1.25L fiesta and it’s terrible on fuel. I brimmed the tank up and it was over full now it’s just below a full tank and only driven 10 miles

Fuel gauges are often wildly innacurate, sometimes they stay on full for ages, other times they go down quickly till they get half way and then stay there for a long time, the only way to really tell properly is to fill the tank to the brim, drive the car for say 200 miles and fill up again, dividing the miles done, by the gallons used

Great review. I've got a 5 door 125 bhp version in deep impact blue, bit less thrum from the engine. You don't get the manufacturers fuel economy in the real world, it is very good though. 0-60 in 9.3 secs and tons of torque. Never fails to put a smile on my face after every journey, a lot of fun. Ford have dumbed down the performance and styling in the new model, which is a shame.

I had the car about a month and someone rear ended me, so the colour lived up to it's name! Just needed a new rear bumper and rear light cluster, bit annoying at the time though.

I have the 1.25 version on 10 plate, how many more miles would you say is left in it? It’s at 60,000 and has oil changes every year

think i rather the focus to this fiesta. I have a 1.2 fiesta on a 04 plate and its not very good at accelerating. May upgrade it to the focus, even though i dont need a car that size. But like they same size doesn't matter!! Thanks for the info on the fiesta! ive liked and subscribed.

Tom Tominta I have the 2010 1.25 engine, very reliable but a bit flat especially uphill with passengers. Would love to get the eco boost next time

William Wood i would say you have yo be aware of the gear you are in otherwise it can be a bit of a slow getaway if you go to overtake

I think the eco boost ones are flexible and can pull away in any gear, not that that’s the correct thing.

there are always problems when you try to get too much out of too little, far better having a bigger engine running at 75% capacity, than a little engine running at 125% :-) imho

Yes they are, very reliable, except for perhaps coil packs onthe petrol versions
