Good afternoon, in the end, to tighten the crankshaft pulley, is it done with the screw that you put back or without a screw, is it the screw that does not allow time to move?

No, the screw needs to be removed for final tightening otherwise it will break. The proper way to prevent the crank from turning during final torquing is by using a special tool to hold the flex plate in place.

I already saw a lot of videos on how to change the timing band of the Ford Fiesta and almost none of them show how to tighten the crankshaft pulley, they only show when the work is finished, I ask you if you recorded the moment, share it, because I have scared of wrecking my car, greetings from Mexico

I’ll just tell you how. With the timing peg still installed, slowly tightened the crank bolt to 74 ft lb. After that, marked the pulley, removed the timing peg and tightened the bolt to 90 degrees , wait 15 seconds and add another 15 degrees. I use impact gun after the initial torquing, don’t over-torque it and i usually use a new crankshaft pulley bolt

Kuya Kabayan walking Timing belt sa akin. 2008 Ford Focus mk2 16v 1.6l . Already check tensioner, sprocket. Noted the right side of the belt is less tight than the left side or tensioner side of the belt. Please could you help me troubleshoot this problem.. maraming salamat ng marami Kabayan Kuya.

Those are the only 2 tools you need to hold the stuff in place? I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta 4 cylinder 1.6 I’m changing the timing belt and water pump.

Yes sir, those are the minimum tools you’ll need. I use impact gun to tighten the crank bolt so i didn’t need any other

You will also need something to hold the engine while you torque down the crank bolt.

Hi sir, ask ko lang kung may space po ba for impact gun para matanggal yung crackshaft pulley? Pwede din po ba na socket wrech lang ang gamit or need talaga ng impact gun? Salamat and more power po.

Mahigpit yan sir, gamit ka ng impact pang tanggal, maliwang po yan, ibaba nyo lang po siguro bahagya yung makina after removal ng mount. Pag higpit ang tamang tools ay socket wrench, pero walang kunya ang crankshaft kaya dapt saktohan ang higpit, i use impact after initial torquing ng bolt. May stages kasi yung pag higpit

Wala po sir, by mileage/time lang po yan. Wag po hintayin maputol, masisira makina. Pa check muna condition kung hindi alam kung kelan nagpalit.

@@melclydefredmanigbas5592 kung stretch na pwede mawala sa timing, but you would have other issues like check engine light or lack of power, but if you’re asking about specific symptoms that indicates it’s time to replace the timing belt, wala ako maisip specific to timing belt (noise maybe???)

Nasa US po ako sir, pero kung experienced yung gumgawa nasa 4 hrs kuha na yan, kelangan lang marunong kasi walang keyway yung crank, papalit na din ng water pump at the same time

So I'm not a mechanic but I have down some major repairs on my vehicles over the past 40 plus years. 2017 Ford Fiesta 1.6 non-turbo. The timing belt walked so now I'm in the process of trying to change it. I ordered the two tools you show, cam holders and crank pin. My concern is why do I see other videos showing the valves, starter and axle having to be removed. If I put the cams at top dead center like you show then install the hold can't I then install the pin remove the crank or can the something turn and screw up everything. Thanks

On fiesta st 4 cyl turbo starter removed so flywheel tool can be installed so crank bolt can be removed (must use new bolt with torque and degrees spec. Half shaft removed to install crank pin. Also tool to hold cam phazers in position. Also bar to hold cams in place. No locator pin on crank pulley on these engines.

There is also a tool that replaces the crank sensor so the crank pulley goes back on in the correct position.
