Ford Fiesta Mk6 1.4 TDCI - Changing Fuel Filter -Part-1, Removing the Old Filter

It is recommended to change fuel filter every 30.000 kilometers. This video shows how I removed the old fuel filter from my 1.4 TDCI diesel Fiesta (Installation of new filter is posted as Part-2) OEM Part No for the fuel filter FIESTA 1,4 TDCI are; 2S6Q9155AB, 2S6Q9155AD, 2S6Q9155AA

I did this whole step and I also primed it like you did in part 2 but car failed to pump fuel through and needed to go to a garage to bleed the system, was a nightmare haha

Sorry to hear that, I've done it many times following the instructions that comes with the new filter and did not have any problems so far...

What was the issue? I've had same problem but was told the injectors

@@danielmeeds5310I didnt pump it enough, got to squeeze the pump like 50/60 times, air was in the system. If you had issues before then likely the injectors

how did you take the filter off so easy with the plastic tab holding it on i still carnt get it off because of this plastic tab at the back of the filter ?

I try never over tighten the filter housing plastic cap, probably that's why filter comes out easily.

hi what size bolts are they for the fuel filter steel cover please n where to get them from

Hi, tey are actually screws with bolt head to fasten the metal cover on plastic top section of the filter. If you want the OEM part, I guess you can get it from dealer's service, shoudn't cost much...hope this helps...

They are not disposable so you can use same screws when you take out the old filter and while taking out the old filter you should be able to see where to fit them when you put the new filter.@@markblakemore2204

Selamlar, ben öncelikte selftest ve OBD-II tester ile sorunlarla ilgili hata kodu var mı bakardım. Islık sesi V-kayışının döndürdüğü alternatör, yakıt pompası, direksiyon pompası, A/C pompası, su pompası, kayış gergi rulmanından geliyor olabilir, hangisi olduğunu dikkatlice inceleyip bulmak lazım, kolay gelsin.

@@Fordmk1 Bu durumdaki bir aracı görmeden fikir vermek yanlış yönlendirmeye sebep olabilir. Sistem arızası verdiğine göre hata kodu olması gerektiğini düşünüyorum. Genel görüntü yakıt sistemi , enjektör problemi olabilir gibi, yakıt filtresi değiştiyse yakıt devresindeki havayı atmak lazım(videoda gösterdiğim şekilde) hava varsa tekleme, tutukluk düzensiz çalışma olabilir.Hata kodunu izin OBD tester algılamamış olabilir, kendi gösterge panelinden test deneyebilirsiniz (bu konuda video yayınlamıştım-Fiesta self test) En doğrusu bir tamirci veya servise gidip diagnostic software ile baktırmak olabilir, o yazılımlar daha kapsamlı çalışıyor çok pahalı tutacağını sanmıyorum, tamiri başka yerde yaptırabilirsiniz. Kolay gelsin.

Thanks for the info I followed the video step by step but could not start the car after fitting I eventually ran the battery flat.after a little research I disconnected the inlet and outlet fuel pipes to the filter and used a syringe to fill the filter with diesel 'reconected the pipes charged the battery and it started no problem.

Good to hear that you managed to solve the problem. I'm using the filter fuel priming method as shown in the video "Part-2 Installing new filter" using the "pear" shaped fuel hand pump, never had a problem so far. But I guess your method also works...Cheers..:-)

After doing this you need to prime the fuel pump before starting. Just turn ignition off and on a few times. You'll hear the fuel pump priming. That'll push fuel into the filter

Hello I have different car, Mazda 2 DY (2004) which has exactly the same engine. In my owners manual (which is in Deutsch of course :/ ) it is described how to change fuel filter but it says that before starting anything I should first: 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable 2. Release the fuel system pressure: -Remove the fuel pump fuse. -Start the engine and allow to idle until the engine stalls. -Crank the engine for approximately five seconds to make sure the fuel injection supply manifold pressure has been released. -Install the fuel pump fuse. In your tutorial you haven't done any of those things and everythings works fine. My first question is - if these steps are unnecessary? And second is - where the hell is fuel pump fuse? I couldn't find any info about fuses or electric schematics for my car. Thanks for your help

Hello dear friend, although the engines are the same, different car manufacturers may have different procedures for same repair jobs which I don't want to comment on it as it will take us away from the subject. At this video I followed the instructions which came with the filter (aftermarket filter) in the box.I have done this job several times and didn't have any problems so far. So I guess, at this point it is up to you to decide which procedure to follow. Best wishes
