I love how Britain advertises power without overboost, even though its basically almost impossible to run out of overboost time as the timer resets every time you shift. So really the regular ST has 197hp, and the ST200 has 212.

If you buy the MP215 kit from Mountune for a regular Fiesta ST, it retains the factory overboost function so that the 215ps and 236 lbft are achieved on overboost, not all of the time. The ST200 basically comes fitted with MP215 kit as standard. Ford call it an ST200 because they are only allowed to advertise what the car makes "all" of the time, which is the 200ps. Mountune can advertise it as a 215 kit because they are not bound by the same rules as a large car company.

Great car and great review! When you tune these things they have the same power to weight ratio as a lotus elise. That's insane for the money. I would love a review on a mustang ecoboost from you guys (preferably a tuned one). I think you would find yourself rather surprised.

I have a ST with the Mountune MP215 package and it's a banging little car. Could I be in a bigger, more comfortable car with more power? Easily. But on the small backroads that I spend most of my time, this car is a perfect fit. Love it!

@Carfection...Mountune adds 15 bhp. It still has overboost so std is 200 bhp and overboost is 215. It doesn't run at 215 permanently.

It was on an extended test drive on some fairly uneven b roads - accelerated hard in 2nd to 3rd and it was extremely hard to hold a straight track - a function more of the road surface and wide tyres 'tracking to follow the road surface'.. so take care if in a similar situation - on smooth tarmac = no probs! enjoy.

If you bought ja ST182 and chooses the same equipment in that little rocket, it would not have been much cheaper than the ST200. Heard about only 600€ at normal price. Nevertheless, i really had to buy it with 42% less. Also got my Focus RS with that 42% less ✌😅

For the price I'd just buy a normal Focus ST, put on Cobb's stage 3 package (tune, downpipe, catback, intercooler), lightweight wheels + sticky tires and some proper KW or H&R coilovers. You'd get a ton more performance (both straight line, and in the bends) for the same cash.

Production facility doesn't matter. It's simply because Ford's European press relations are centrally managed from Cologne AFAIK. Hence all the press cars bear German plates. In this case even the RHD version

Yes and no, the model is almost 10 years old now so there is a completely new model around the corner. Meaning this is the last "new" ST of this model generation.

St215 loses the overboost (always on - which is better), and adds ridiculous induction noise to the mix. It's also far cheaper and in better colour choices. Seems like a no-brainer!

The torque steer is actually really bad on the ST215 with ESC off AT TIMES. But only on bad country roads. I drive a few on my way home and first time I thought the surface looked OK and accelerated too hard - with hands on the wheel it's desperate to put you into the middle of the road or the bush. Nothing throttle control doesn't solve, but it did surprise me! Any other roads I've had literally no issues at all. 90 degree corners at full power, roundabouts at great pace and all it does is step the back out! Can't rate it highly enough!

You can go nuts with it if you want. As long as you can drive you will be fine. But if you want to put your foot to the floor all the time you will literally come unstuck. I like being able to throw it around a corner and blast it out with a rush of induction noise. The average driver may be shocked the car tries to follow imperfections too eagerly though. One handed steering is difficult on the wrong road, for example!

I'm made 300ftlb's on the stock turbo at the wheels. I want to pull the fishing boat one day just to freak people out. That paint is terrible and the wheels are nasty. I have the grado's and they are gross too but, those black ones are worse. 500 bucks gets you a Cobb accessport and you have this power level whenever you want it. Make sure you get the rear motor mount too, it only takes like 20 minutes to install.

+Terry Dolan It definitely needs one if you plan on tracking the car at all. It uses the brakes for the vectoring, and since they're working double, they get overheated and fade very easily. You can slam the brake from 80 to 0 around 8 or 10 times with consistency, but after that it's all fade
