I'm not sure, I didn't have the need to go that far. From experience with other cars, there are usually small setscrews at the base of the knob that need to be loosened and the knob can slide straight up. There might a plastic ring around the base that has to be slid down to expose the screws. Hopefully that helps some!

Sorry it took me so long. Unfortunately I don't have a video of this, it would have been a good idea to show the install part. I'll have to remember that if I ever do a video again!

I wish I would have kept filming, but it was getting difficult trying to do everything one handed. In my situation, just removing the bulb and replacing it wasn't enough. I ended up doing some rewiring to another fuse to have it come on. Not sure if this is your situation though.

C the G, that whole panel might pop off if you use trim tools around it. But I've never personally removed it before. So I'm not entirely sure. Have you tried looking at other videos to see about removal?

You don’t have to paint it. They make wraps different colors. Just remove it trace it cut it out and put it on

How do I take off the shift knob to replace it with a different one ?

I'm not sure, I didn't have the need to take it off. From my experience with other cars, I would imagine that around the lower part of the shift knob, there should be small screws holding it in place. I think there is a plastic cover towards the base of the knob that has to be pryed downward to expose the screws.

How to pull the handle of the shifter to change the bulb . I tried it and there is no access unless you pull the shifter hansle !!!!

Are you trying to access the bulb that lights up which gear you're in? If so, I didn't have to remove the shift knob to do so. You just need to do everything I showed in the video, and then remove the black bezel trim piece I pointed to at the end of the video. Once that's out of the way you should see where the bulb is located. If I remember right, you have to twist the bulb housing to remove it. I can't fully remember since this almost 4 years ago.

Mostly helpful. Installed a radio in my 2011 Ford focus. Wondering what that plug at the top right of the shifter assembly is, mine was unplugged? Didn't have a cable to plug into it either, wasn't one hanging there... Any ideas what that plug is for? Anybody?

Kyle, sorry I didn't see this when you posted. Unfortunately I don't know what that plug is for. Assuming you have the same model in the video, I would check and see if all of your ambient lights are on, cigarette lighter works, etc. The plug might control some of those item.

I purchased my kit off of eBay. They're pretty cheap online. I would say autozone, advanced auto or other local parts store... Any of those places should carry them, but I don't know for sure though.

How tf did you get that black tab out of the boot lol

I remember it being kind of a pain to remove. Lol. What I did was loosen the entire console first and stuck hand underneath to pry the tab loose. You'll need to pry the tab inwards towards the emergency brake. I pried the tab and pulled on the top of the boot with my other hand at the same time and it finally broke free. Once you get one side of the boot out you will be able to pop it out of the console. You could try using the trim tools like I showed in the video and try to slide it under the plastic edge of the boot and pry up. (I'm not sure if it will work or not as I didn't try that)

I accidentally spilled a vitamin water onto my console & it went down around the gear shift. My question is, could the spill possibly damage the components (I have the model w/ accent lights)? Should I remove the console & wipe it out?

Butterfly Angel, I'm sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. I don't think you've caused any damage. By now if you're not seeing anything wrong, I would say you are in the clear. You might take all of it apart and try to clean up any residual mess. Just to get rid of any stickiness caused by the vitamin water. If you do this, obviously look to see if anything looks damaged, but other then that I think you're good.

There is no way on God's green earth that boot over that ebrake wasn't already off when this was filmed. I reached a complete impass trying to get that off, broke the tabs that claim to hold it on to the panel, and the boot still would not come off and I couldn't unplug the accent light wire with the boot in the way.

True, since I was trying to film and show the procedure with one hand I went ahead and got the ebrake boot loose beforehand. It was definitely a pain, but I was able to get it loose.
