Thinking about one of these for mine, unlike most other videos you can get a decent gauge of the difference between the two systems, do you get much/any drone? Cheers!

There is a very slight drone sometimes, one at about 1400 rpm and the other at 3300 but only when you are on decel never anything on acceleration or cruising You can barely hear the car when doing motorway speeds too so can still easily have a conversation

I get that exact same noise on start up and on as you say spooling up to boost but to me it’s like a boost leak or oil diaphragm possibly , had mani bolts tightened up so ain’t that

On mine its the power steering pump. The sound will change if you turn the wheel a bit.

Could also be the fuel pump. I had an aftermarket fuel pump in my ST that was very loud and it sounded similar.
