In NL they have upgraded the towing capacity to 1500kg. Stil not as much as you would probably like to have, but compared to a full electric it is very useful.

In Denmark the Ford Kuga Vignale HPEV is 43K Euro and the BMW X3 xDrive30e aut. xLine is 98K Euro (The BMW X5 xDrive45e aut. xLine is 148K Euro). Why are you comparing the Ford Kuga to the much more expensive BMW X in your video?

Good question. I was comparing the interior of the Kuga with different cars, which didnt come through on camera unfortunately. The non hybrid kuga Vignale in sweden is about 41 k euro, and comparably there are alterantives from volvo (41 k), bmw, although a bit more expensive (around 43 k), for non hybrids. In that aspect, these models exceed. But just looking at it as a hybrid, the kuga has a compelling price, and the hybrid system worked really well

Hasse Olsson that’s interesting, Scandinavian prices must be a bit of an anomaly though; in most markets, this car is not going to be in the same price range to equivalently sized BMW or Volvo competitors, rather a fair amount cheaper.

By the way I have now bought the Kuga Vignale and been driving it for a few weeks. The car is amazing, especially considering its price tag. Smooth driving, impressive fuel efficiency, silent also with the panoramic roof. I'm seriously enjoying this car and just looking for an excuse to drive it even more. I came from a 2017 Highline VW Passat and the Kuga Vignale gives me at least the same joy to drive :-)

Thanks for the video. Why you say in sports mode the car will be very stiff. Does it have adaptive dampers?

Long time ago since I reviewed it. It doesent have adaptive dampers, but I think I know my reasoning to my comment. Especially on the curvy road I test most cars, there are fairly bumpy sections. The car is stiff in its setup, but still compliant, like most SUVs are, but add some more spirited driving, with all power going to the front, the suspension doesent come to its own the faster you go, which is to be expected really, and the car is very up on its toes and never settles

Ford PHEV kuga /escape spoiled their efforts by at least 4 things that make its buyer unhappy when they buy it: putting a weak engine, generating combined low HP of 220hp compared to rav4 305 hp and Mazda xc60’s 350hp , no AWD available, outdated Sync 3 (8 inch screen in 2022!), eCVT compared to normal gears in competitors. Why all these drawbacks! Then probably next year they will put sync 4 which is a game changer to disappoint 2022 buyers !

I think in terms of power, the majority doesen't really care. The same way it is enough with 120 hp in a small hatchback. But I agree that it is less than the competition. Now, 2 years after the review i have realized that the price is very competitive. But the ecvt, sync and so on, explains why the price is so impressive, and evidentially has done pretty well

The car has a cvt gearbox, so it is rather smooth since there are no gears being shifted.

@@HonestCarReviews Thanks for this helpful review. I am actually considering this car and have my doubts on taking the panoramic roof option or not. I really like the idea of letting that extra light into the car… Don’t even care that much about the glass roof being able to open, haha… Is the extra noise also present with BOTH the glass roof AND the shade closed? Because the shade looks like fabric padded and closes all the way, I had hoped that that would also make it silent when closed. Noise reduction might be more important to me than extra light… Because some reviewers also complain about hearing too much of the sound the car makes on the outside when in EV mode (to alert pedestrians). Any other remarks on the panoramic roof? Did you experience it as annoying while driving, did it feel like more weight or something? Or in other words: would you recommend NOT taking this option?

@@michielthijssen1268 good question. Since it was some time since I reviewed it, my memory might fail me, but I would consider this. Yes, you have the possibility to cover the entire sun roof, but isn't the point of it to be not covered. The fabric might eat up some noise, but not enough if there is a problem with sound leaking. Why take the chance and if it becomes a problem trying to spend time rectifying it with the dealership
