That's the most professionally dressed solid waste worker I've ever seen on route

I was just about to say that!! I don't think in the 5 years I have been in the industry have I seen someone so well dressed

While I recognize that we all love the sound this thing makes... but imagine being a normal lesser mortal having to listen to this noisy bastard barn storming through your neighborhood in the morning. Holy jeez.

A very nice surprise in my subscriptions! Great work on this one. Love the whole look of this truck. Simple paint scheme, ribbed body, all the sounds, and mean looking cab really gave it that “garbage truck” vibe. Always enjoyed watching the massive blades on these LM125s. And this was no exception. Cool to see one outside of New York too. Not very common these days. I like the two large lights on the tailgate as well. Keep up the great work Scott!

Agreed, this truck (particularly its tailgate) epitomizes how a rear loader should look in my opinion. Maybe even more than a Leach does. Thanks for the comment

That's actually a L8000 Aeromax. I remember USA waste had a couple of them for roll offs

Back in the mid 90s, I remember the Sanitation District of Garden City, NY had a fleet of brand new 20yrd LM125s on single axle chassis from IHC S series 4900s & seeing a totally brand new 1 on a random GMC topkick single axle leaving the American Refuel Incinerator heading back; I only remember seeing an older Hackney & Sons LM125 on a long hood Ford L8000 single axle chassis years ago by some sanitation district near Garden City! Its good that you were able to find 1 on a Ford LTS9000 chassis still earing a living; Love the loud diesel, probably some Cummins ISC?
@Trashman2424 жыл бұрын
They did quite well with haulers in New York, it's always a pleasure to read anecdotes like that though. Almost like time traveling for those of us just born in the 90s! Did you see many of the LTS9000 though? Seems like it came and quickly was replaced, and I rarely see a dump truck or auto hauler on one of these anymore, much less a garbage truck. I believe it's technically a Cummins 8.3 which is the direct predecessor to ISC without the computer.

@@Trashman242 didn't really see any in waste back in Long Island. Most I saw were in LTL Trucking like ABF freight & NEMF! But they're a common site here in FL where I live mainly as dump trucks!!! I see them with every engine like Cummins, Caterpillar & Detroit Series 60 11.1 & 12.7 series! Seen 1 as a rolloff 10 yrs ago from Waste Management, pretty sure its probably scrapped or sold off to a different country,.......

Good video, I think that guy goes golfing when he's done with his route
@justincase79372 жыл бұрын
When he drove away from the first dumpster and started to turn it looked like the rear dual axles slid in and out. Never saw that on an older rig before. Driver playing a round of golf when he's done with the route?

This is an L8000, it says on the cab above the headlights.

Any answers to why it took so long to takeoff? Seems like it was struggling on those, it’s pretty satisfying to see an old fashioned rear loader handle dumpsters. Great vid!
@Trashman2424 жыл бұрын
Couldn't tell you, turbo is getting tired or something? It did seem slower than you'd think the truck used to be. But it appeared full, so you can't blame a 1995 that otherwise still runs fine for being a little slow to accelerate when full. Thanks for the comment...almost a month ago!

is this the same guy that operated the Leach Sanicruiser with a International S series chassis? He looks like the same guy in that you tube video. Love the old trucks!

No, its a Cummins 8.3 or L10!! The only Detroit they used as an option was a 4 stroke Detroit Series 60, either 11.1 or 12.7!
